1/2, 10pm on a Wednesday night.

Hero bought in 30 mins ago for table max (400). Tried to subtly peel the notes out of a large roll of about 3000 (I usually play higher), which was definitely noticed by the table.

Villain is early 30's reg, small-talking with other regs walking by the table. Seems ABC solid. Perceives hero as decent player. Stack of about 500.

No hands of note prior.

Hero is C/O with K

Villan in MP1 raises to 8, Hero calls, BB completes.

Flop

Pot: 25

BB checks, Villain bets 15, Hero calls, BB folds.

Unlikely hes checking KQ,

Qxss is a possible holding so I bet small to retain bottom end of his dubbing range

No way is value betting too thin here. Villain could call with AQ, QJ.
I don't see a hand other than AK that he is check-calling this river with given the action.

I'd bet 35 or 40 to get value from Qx. AK is only hand that beats you here.

One other thought. When you sign up for smaller games, why not break out a smaller buy-in from your roll where no one can see you?

No need to flash so much cash. All you do is attract unwanted attention to your roll.

I like betting in the 1/3 pot range to entice a call from his Qx holdings, maybe $40 or $45.

Yes MP could x/c AK otr. Maybe AA too. But why should MP bet twice with Qx and then even call river bet. It is huge overplay of 2nd pair in 3way spot. For valuebet we need more than 12 combos Qx played this strange way, doubt we can succesfully valuebet river.
