Hero has 3 4 on the button

V1 $350
V2 $300
Hero covers

V1 opens from UTG+1 to 10, 2 callers, Hero calls, V2 calls from SB, BB folds

($52) Flop 3 3 T

checks to V1 who cbets 20, 2 folds, Hero calls, V2 calls

($112) Turn 9

V2 leads out for 40, V1 re-raises to 100

okay, woah. underrepped my hand on the flop and then this happens on the turn. what do we do with trips and no kicker here against 2 opponents? it seems like V1 could have a big overpair here, but I've got no idea what's going on with V2 leading this turn, and if he's drawing I feel like flatting isn't great here because V2 is not going to ever bluff the river vs 2 callers anyway if he bricks so I would just be presenting him with a great price to make his hand. but if I raise and he has the case 3 or a boat then I'm basically stacking off no matter what else happens at that point because I'll have committed myself.
V1 could still have us beat too although his range as an EP raiser doesnt include as many 3s, he could still have something like A3ss, TT, or 99 and raise here because he thinks we're drawing and he'll miss value on the river unless one of us hits a draw.

do we panic fold or do we just go with the hand? I really feel like my hands are tied and I can't simply flatcall because there are a lot of rivers I might have to fold on if I do that.

So I'm assuming it's the 3s on the flop and not the 3c?

Anyways, I probably just fold the turn given the aggression here and then cringe when V1 turns over AA

Theoretically speaking he shouldn't be raising here with overpairs in a 3way pot. He most likely has TT or A3s. V2 will usually have strong draws that still have decent equity against you if you call.

I think I prefer call as played

I also think I would raise the flop because its multiway and the small sizing - winning it right here not a bad result

result: I tankfolded, I figured with the way this betting went at least one of these guys has me beat right now somehow even though it's trip 3s which is definitely not common by any strech. I really had it more in mind that someone had TT or 99, not that I was out-kicked.

V2 tanked and eventually jammed, and V1 instantly snapped him off with 99 catching the gin card on the turn. V2 showed A3 of diamonds drawing dead.

was in 2nd place on the flop and 3rd on the turn, perhaps I should've raised the flop irregardless but not doing so actually ended up averting a disaster because I was likely going to stack off to V2 if V1 got out of the way.

You're right, many SCs would be good calls here. But 43s is too weak. Opinions will vary, but the lowest I'll go is 54s, and I think even that is questionable.

Problems with 43s:

It can make only three straights instead of the four that 54s - JTs can. You can't straight over straight someone. (For comparison, 54s has four possible straights, 65s is the lowest that you can straight over straight with, 76s gives you two possible straight over straights)

If you make a flush with three on the board, it's the nut low flush. With four on the board it skyrockets to the 2nd nut low flush.

You will basically never trip over trip someone.

If you flop 2P, it's almost always going to be bottom two.

Basically, even when you hit, it looks a lot like this hand. You've flopped well, but really can't go for the gusto because you're behind almost everything that will put significant money in the pot.

Yeah, I'd have folded pre, but as played would have gone broke on the turn haha
