Hey Guys, Long time reader but first post. Played in a large hand yesterday and wanted to get a second opinion on it.

Hero: BTN (~450) LAG image at the time
UTG~300) Middle aged regular
UTG +1: (~350) just sat down 20 minutes before no real reads on him
UTG +2: (~125) Older reg. sees a lot of flops but dosent usually bet without strong hand. Just lost a 140 dollar pot by getting sucked out on.

Hero on BTN with 77

UTG: raises to 7
UTG +1 makes it 20
4 callers, I call, blinds fold UTG calls.

Flop Comes: 78Q

UTG checks, UTG +1 makes it 75, UTG+2 is all in

1) So you're saying five players cold called a 3-bet? What the hell kind of game is this?

2) How in the hell did an entire table of players sit there and let a guy tank for 7 minutes without calling a clock? That's an eternity.

3) Good shove. No need to get cute. (I'm assuming the other three cold callers folded to the shove before the action got to you).

Given the stack size of UTG+2 the reraise allin doesnt concern me too much.

Yeah you are gonna be coolered here sometimes or sucked out on, but too many times this is like AQ and a two pair or combo draw.

So yeah gotta shove I think.

Pretty standard shove. With all the cold calls I can't see JJ+ so it's the right play on a draw heavy board.

1) yes, 1/2 at the borgata
2) I agree, however at the borgata anyone involved with the hand is not able to call clock. He got a lot of eye rolls from everyone but no one actually called clock.
3) Thank you, got a bit nervous when the 3rd player went all in but at that point the chips were in the middle anyway.

Yes, that is what I was told by a regular player their once. I've also read it on the borgata thread here before.

I've had the clock called on me at the Borg several times by pissy old regs.

Maybe management changed the rules recently, but I don't really think so.

Re: The hand. Didn't look at the spoiler, but immediately this looks like a BBV post and not one that belongs in a strategy forum. Calling PF raises with medium PPs and folding sets to < 200BB shoves on drawy flops is very -EV.

You had not acted as of yet so I wouldve just made it $160-$170 to go to try and induce another all-in somewhere to create a side pot. You got it anyway but you might have got the 'tanker' to come along as well in some spots, just not this one perhaps since there probably wouldve been a shove behind you anyway.

If you had decided to take this the whole way regardless then you couldve flatted the all-in but I dont really like that since you dont know what flush draws are out there and you want to start the side pot if you can right now before another card comes out.

Shoving doesnt look as strong as it could with all the action here but it couldve shut down others in the hand before they put in more chips.

Bottom set is always tricky IMO and I usually play it faster unless the action takes care of itself ... min raise>shove>call ... GL
