Greetings,

UTG+1: semi nitty player with only about $80 back. He is irrelevant other than flop considerations.
BB: Mostly LP player. I've seen him make $20+ raises with big hands preflop. Otherwise content to limp in. He likes to make small blocking bets with weak hands. I'd say he generally doesn't know what he's doing. He currently has $376. He looks like Pedro (Vote for Pedro) except about 50 lb heavier.

Hero: Winning image. Just told the table this is my last hand of the night. Place is about to close up and people have loosened up a bit. I have $1244. None of the V's have seen me get out of line.

Hand-

Preflop: Hero raises to $16 UTG with QcQh. UTG+1 calls. folds to Pedro who calls.

UTG+1 has a relatively tight range in this spot. Broadway aces and pp's. Pedro is still very wide.

Flop: Jc 9d 6c ($49)
Pedro checks. Hero bets $35. UTG+1 folds. Pedro says, "Vote for Pedro," and calls.

Whatevs

Turn: Jc 9d 6c 9c ($119)
Pedro checks. Hero checks.

Nines and flushes are definitely in his range, and with the Qc I don't mind getting to the river and keeping the pot relatively cheap. I think that if he calls three streets I usually lose with this board.

River: Jc 9d 6c 9c 7c ($119)
Pedro checks. Hero bets $50. Pedro shoves for $275 more. Hero says, "Gosh!"

It's a really bad way to play a boat. It's a really bad way to play a nut flush, but I can't really find a way to call.

Waves Mexican flag...

Fold. Almost always a boat hoping you can't fold the nut flush

Sucks but easy fold. I like how you still bet the river but his shove over your bet says your beat.

Bet the turn. You get to charge him for his 4 flush draw and still check behind on the river for pot control if need be.
As played, fold.

think hand was played fine, and the river is a prety standard b/f. could possibly go a little larger otr to at least 1/2psb but looks good.

Never checking the river

Well played, I doubt you are beating anything here. Did he show you 27?

U played it fine. Bet folding is the correct play here even if u had nut flush (he always has a boat or nut flush). Arguments can be made for betting turn but if he check raises turn with 9x or flush I don't want to have to fold and give up any potential equity (and calling a big raise still sucks as u don't even know if u want another club on the river). If u had no club though bet folding turn is better as u don't mind if he folds any hand with a club in it and if u get check raised u often only have 2 outs

Agree bet/fold river
You are a big favorite on flop against short stack and a weak villian. I would bet more (pot) to start building a big pot.

I like the bet/fold of 70 on the turn. You are going to find out where you are. And you want to make jacks up pay you off before the board gets too scary.

As played I think you need to fold the river as all you really beat is a stone cold bluff.

Love the bet fold on the river.

Got to fold here tho...

Agreed...I don't know how they do things down in Juarez, but unless Pedro is tricky enough to checkraise without at least 9x or a flush I'd rather bet/fold the turn than wait for the river card, most of which can only hurt us.

hand is ok as played though I would much rather b/f the turn his range is wider than FDs and 9x so you can bet/fold for value and stacks are such that you can b/f comfortably.

the problem is when board pairs on the river and puts 4clubs its hard for him to c/c with worse. It will happen just saying its more likely on the turn to get value from worse in general.
