Stacks and reads:

Button is a middle aged tourist from LA. He just sat down maybe one orbit ago and has a stack a little under $300.

SB is a middle aged reg and hasn't gotten out of line. He has a stack a little over $400.

Hero has a tight image and hit a few monsters and has a stack around $800.

Planet Hollywood 1/2.

Hero is in BB and is dealt red queens. Folds around to button who raises to $10. SB calls. Hero 3 bets to $35. Button calls and SB calls.

Pot $95: Flop: A 10 6

SB checks. Hero leads for $65. Button jams for $250. SB folds. Hero folds.

Comments on all streets welcomed.

Don't lead the flop. Someone called with Ax in this situation (they aren't set mining) and is never folding after hitting TP. The middle aged "tourist" is rarely bluffing.

Ditto. Two callers to a 3 bet, high likelihood an A is out there. Also the chance of TT hitting here as well. Out of position PF, you're goal here should be to banish everything but premium, or flat call and see a flop. Your 3 bet was decent, but 5x ($50) would really make anything less than AK, and JJ-AA seriously consider folding. If you get a call on that, you can be sure it's something big. Other than that, good fold, move on and get your money back down the road against that dude.

Thanks everyone. I suspected the flop bet was spew (I hate check calling in this spot) and I could have sized a little higher preflop.

Out of curiosity, who would c-bet a K high rainbow flop?

I would feel better cbetting K high flops due to less combinations of hands the button is likely to have with a King in it. The button raises almost all A/X combinations but probably only raise K9 or better

Do you mean bet 25% of pot on the flop, or bet 25% of the time? Assuming you mean bet 25% of the pot, I'm curious to hear your reasoning (aside from folding out most non-thinking players who don't have an A some portion of the time).

board is super dry with no draws so you are either WA/WB....if you are ahead then V’s will probably only have 2-4 outs to improve.....so no reason to bet big

My general rule for 3 betting in LSL games is - double the amount of money in the pot, and round up to the nearest $5 chip (or $25 chip if the doubled amount is above $100)

In your case it would be $24x2 = $48, rounded up to $50, like many people above suggested. It has worked well for me so far (took down a few mid sized pots pre)

$50 pre. I’d still c-bet around 1/3 PSB and x/f turns unimproved. Exploitable, yes, but we aren’t being exploited at this level.
