typical 1/2 table.

V (200ish) is definately inexperienced, speaking mix isreali to his friend and english. He sat with a friend who is also at the table. His friend is your typical aggro spewtard fishy.

Less than 10 hands prior to this I busted V and his friend and one other fish when I flopped a stright on a 458dd flop. No one else showed their cards. V was the agressor in this hand. He raised preflop and shoved flop for a little more than pot sized bet, everyone called and I shoved over. I also witnessed him play a hand where he called a decent river bet after a bet and a call with a counterfeited 2 pair, leaving him with just bottom pair.

Hero covers everone, young 20s male. I can tell V and his friend are irritated after the previous big hand and it seems they both are eager to get their money back. Don't think my image quite matters to these type of players.

Hand

Button straddles 5
Hero Calls in sb with red 88
V calls in BB
3 others call the straddle and button checks.

(30)Flop 4-5-7 r
Hero leads 20
V calls
all others fold

(70)Turn 4-5-7-10 r
Hero leads 30
V calls

(130)River 4-5-7-10-2
H checks
V looks a little surprised mutters something under his breath, stacks chips in one stack and pushs all in after about 5-10 seconds

Hero?

Why did you check the river?

I would need to be at the table for this one. It's so close. It's enough of a bet that I might let one pair (second pair) go.

(I'd be more likely to call a "thinking" player because the line makes so little sense.)

I let this one go, our one pair hand is not all that strong.

V can have all kinds of garbage that beats us.

Call.

But bet the river AI yourself. If you want to check anywhere in this hand, do it OTT.

I don't really like the way I played the hand post flop at all. I was still distracted and pumped from winning the huge pot before.

I think the PF limp is fine but what's a better line post flop and why?

Well, you don't have a monster, I would go for 2 streets.

Bet/check/bet.

Of course, if he bets OTT, I will call, then c/c OTR. Based on read, he seems a bit spewy, I'm ok with letting him spew a bit.

Honestly I didn't think the hand through well but I checked the river with the intention of calling but the shove was not what I was looking for

This line makes no sense. If it doesn't make sense, and the guy has shown the ability to bluff, I go ahead and call here.

I would have checked the 2 also, prepared to snap call a bet, and there you have it, his whole stack! He's itching to get his money back, i doubt a guy itching is slow playing a hand. Given prior hands, history and reads, I call.

Either he's inexperienced in the sense that he doesn't know what to do with his "monster" (who knows what that means to him) on the river or he's inexperienced in the sense that he's been watching too much poker on TV and thinks the bluff all-in is a brilliant play.

The Villain is in the big blind. He could have anything. He could have flopped a straight and be happy that we're betting drawing virtually dead.

If you put our hand into PokerStove against a range of hands we're ahead of (remove 99+) we're winning this pot 31% of the time pre-flop and 31% of the time on the river. This run-out was totally average for everyone's range. But for some reason we put in five dollars pre-flop and now we're planning on playing for stacks.

I meant this guy is not a thinking player -- as stated in OP. He's inexperienced, which makes me less likely to call. (As I stated already.)

Thanks for comments everyone.

I tank folded and V proudly showed K6o

I don't hate my river fold. I think he takes the same line with any random 2 pair or better. This type of player who is obv inexperienced is really hard to play agains when we're looking at getting in 200 bbs with 2nd pair. Interesting hand tho. If I hadn't just won a 400 bb pot 5 minutes ago I might just snap him off =)

Fine both pre and on the flop. Check the turn and evaluate. Hero should pot control and wouldn't mind a free card. If V bets, I might call or raise depending on my read.
