Now I know a lot of you don't advocate getting into big hands in limped pots, but regardless, I got caught up in a hand earlier against a new villain to the table.
Villain is mid-20s, fairly competent, has accumulated quite a few chips.
Hero's image is solid, has been making solid plays at the table, and has even called some people down with A high and been right.
1/2 NLHE
Hero ($550) BB
Villain ($300) BTN
Preflop:
Limpfest around, Hero looks down at K
3
from the BB and checks option. 6 to the flop.
Flop ($11):
K
5
3
SB checks
BB leads out for $15
Folds to Villain on the BTN who makes it $40
Folds back to Hero who reraises to $90
Villain tanks and then flats
Turn ($187):
10
Hero ??????
I can't imagine what I can beat here. Is this a bet/fold situation? Check/fold? Or what is my best course of action out of position? I can't imagine him having AA, AK, or KK here because he limped on the button, nor 33 because I have blockers. Is his range exclusively 55 at this point?
Advice appreciated!
