Playing 1/2 (200 max buyin) this afternoon at my normal place. The table is playing VERY loose, so I am just nitting it up. There is one other solid reg at the table, and we just kind of stay out of each others' way. We were next to each other, just marveling at the chips flying around.

I have literally played about 5 hands in 2 hours, by choice and because i was pretty card dead. It really didn't matter, because the LAGgy villains were pretty much oblivious to how tight anyone was playing. Either that or they didn't care. As an example, the only hand I played that actually went to showdown was me vs. 3 villains (including the two in the following hand) where my pocket 10s held up on a 93JQ5 board with 3 spades. (yeah...I know!)

The players:

Heroine: $180 behind, was up to about 220 at one point, but back down from being blinded away and having recently lost a small pot (~30ish) after having to fold on the river when a flopped two pair was counterfeited. It's been a looooong time since i played this super tight, but in this game, i think it was definitely the right way to go.

V1: ~$155 behind. The LAGgiest LAGtard of them all. middle-aged asian gentleman who was in the game for about $600, and who's stack had gone to the felt, then up to $800, and was now down to 140. If we had a stats tracker, his VPIP would be about 90%. hyper agro postflop, too. Loves to bluff. main villain in the hand. This is the guy every player dreams about having at their table.

V2: ~500 behind. Newer to the table, he sat down and played loose-passive, and won three big pots against V1. Also likes to see flops, but was more station-y postflop.

Preflop:
UTG limps, V2 (UTG +1) makes it $6, V1 in the HJ calls, Heroine in CO looks down at JJ and makes it $18, folds around, V2 calls, V1 calls.

Flop (pot: $52)
936
V2 checks, V1 checks, Heroine bets $35, V2 folds, V1 hesitates, then calls.

Now, at this point after having seen V1 play for 2 hours, I KNEW he was going to bet into me on the turn. It was a very standard play for him. He likes to raise postflop with all sorts of draws, bet scare cards, and basically just push people around. Just wasn't sure of how much it would be.

Turn (pot: $122)
8
V1 picks up his barrel of red chips and crosses the line, cuts out approx. $35, then hesitates for a second before smashing them all down and releasing them. He still has about $15 in whites behind the line. I ask for a count and it's $80 to call. Obv. the white chips are going in eventually if I continue.

Heroine ??

Just interested in bet sizing and range discussions, mostly. I'll post my thinking and results later...

some hands you are never going to know where you are at. so just play your two cards against his possible anything and go in.

These are the guys I always seem to lose to, mainly because I have such a hard time putting them on ranges.

Either way, I did shove, he called, river was Q.

He turned over T9 and i scooped the pot. I think my decision was made by the way he put out his huge turn bet. It was sort of a "balk" like he was thinking "i gotta bet to bluff her off this hand...oooh! that's not enough! here we go!"

unfortunately I had to leave shortly after this hand, otherwise I think i would have been parked at that table all night, lol.

As played, vs this villain, shove it on the turn.

ATC & FE=0 These people, I wish I could see what they fold pre, so I could draw a line somewhere in the deck and at least eliminate a few hands from their range.

I think you should probably be 3betting bigger here pre (maybe $25-$30ish) at described table (or just call), but other than that everything is good. Fist pump get it in on turn against described Villain of course.

seems like the right move. why would you ever fold to that type of player? just keep playing hands that rate stronger and soon you will have his money.

good results for the hand, and a good lesson to be learned from playing with bad players.
