Hero with ~$220 in SB is pretty new to table, played 2 hands in 3 orbits. Is dealt TT this hand

V covers hero on button, not much of a read in short time at table

3 limps to V who makes it 15. I consider raising to make sure we don't get super multiway but decide to flat instead of raising OOP and opening it up to a 4 bet.

Flop (~$35) JhTh3x. I check. V bets 25. I think there are plenty of flush draws in my raising range so I raise to 60. V calls.

Turn ($155) 3x. I consider shoving for a little less than pot size bet but there are virtually no rivers that scare me and I don't want to fold out his draws or scare away an overpair. I bet 60, he calls.

River ($275) 3x. I shove for about 80.

Questions: preflop, what do you all think about call vs 3!? Flop, call vs raise? And sizing of raise?, turn, smaller bet or shove?

This is DEFINITELY, a 3! pre.... SB vs BTN open you should be 3! rather wide, honestly you can 3! pairs 77+....

I mean AP sizings were perfect. You made out since you hit the T and boated, not much to talk about there.

Back to preflop, with TT you need to protect the value of your hand and regain initiative. Any overcard is a semi scare card when you don't spike your T like you did. Two overcards and you hate your life.

Def raise PF here given the action in front of you as told. Make it 35-45 depending how the table is playing preflop with this stuff.

Looks good to me. I don't think 3 betting pf accomplishes much -- rather puts you in a vulnerable spot considering stack. Postflop played really well, to valuetown.

It's not an "BTN open" though, V raised after three limpers, so it's not just some random steal raise, he'll have a hand of some kind.

If V 4bets, we're not going to have enough equity to call with TT, it's a minor disaster. If he calls, we have a lot of the same problems as if we flat - we have the initiative, but we're now in a bigger pot OOP. It seems to me like we're only really comfortable when villain folds, in which case we may as well threebet with like JT instead.

I understand the plusses of threebetting TT here and could go either way, but I think you're glossing over the negatives a bit.

I'd raise a bit more OTF to set up a turn shove and would shove even on this turn. Although there are no scary river cards for us, there are for him and I'd rather get the money in before the river is an ace of hearts or something and he folds KK.
