This is the final hand on the night , my local casino closes at 3am.

Hero - $375 , playing abc tag poker.
Villain 1 - $650 , playing relatively loose post flop , played with villain before

Hero straddles to $4 , two villains call , then villain 1 raises to $20 , action folds around to hero who looks at KK , I reraise to $75 , villain 1 calls. Pot = $158

Flop

3h 9c 8d

Hero CHECKS , villain checks

Turn

10d

Hero bets $50 , villain calls

River

Jh

Hero checks, villain checks

I know I played this hand like garbage , I knew I should of bet on the flop but I was scared I was going to get raised even with KK since this villain is loose post flop. What would be a good flop bet , $80? $100? $125? villain 1 could easily have 89 suited or 10 J suited, didn't want to do a flip for the last hand however...

Spoiler:
Villain tables A7 of hearts and scoops the pot

Just bet the flop dude. When you put in 1/5 of your stack preflop with KK and the flop comes 893, you should typically be looking to keep betting until the money is in (especially against a loose villian). Bet $110 on the flop looking to get it in, then shove the turn if called.

between 100-125 is good on the flop

he could also have TT-QQ and you're getting it in ahead. im not really sure why you're afraid to get it in with JT. if you get raised, its a pretty good situation to shove and get called by worse a lot. by checking the flop, you're not in an awkward position on the turn with a scare card coming in and you have no idea where you're at.

Last hand of the night? Shove flop. Villain will call with most of his range since he has you covered by 2x.

Villain's range most likely [TT+, AJs+, KQ+, with some other random junk].

As played, preflop 3B was perfect. But, your biggest mistake was your turn bet. Should have been at least 3/4 pot.

Villain's check on the end is absolutely horrific. He did you a huge favor.

I know eh man , I can't believe I was being a ***** there. I talked to villain after the hand and he knew he was fishing on the turn there however it seems that money doesn't matter to him. Next time I'm in this position I'll fire 3/4 pot.. another lesson learned

Yeah eh I was hoping villain to have 10 10 or JJ but he didn't bet on the flop when I checked so I was a little confused. I was pretty sure that villain would of 4bet pre-flop me if he really had AA here.

Actually, Villain picked up many outs on the turn. 3 Aces, 4 Jacks, 4 6's, 1.5 7's (against Hero's possible AK)... 12.5 outs with one card to come he has about 26%, you gave him 4:1 in immediate odds and with implied odds, he's not doing bad at all since he probably can felt you if he hits. Amazing that he didn't bet.

Fixed.

You've got the initiative in a 3-bet pot with KK and a PSR of less than 2. You flop an overpair on a rainbow board with no made straights. If you don't like that flop for getting your money in, what would you like? You're not setmining with kings, are you?

A bet as low as $50 here sets up a PSB turn shove, but you don't want to price in the straight draws. Bet at least 100 otf and shove all turns and all flop reraises. You're pot committed otf. I'd actually be ok with just shoving the flop here too.

That is true , I wonder if villain would of folded the turn here for $110. I honestly feel the reason why villain didn't bet was a mix of him doing me a favor/being scared of my possible QQ.

Definitely not set-mining with kings here haha. I think my brain all of a sudden shut down post flop, when I left the card room I asked myself the same thing lol. What the hell kind of a flop was I hoping would come here? In retrospect , this was the perfect flop to lead out on.

Any bets Hero would make in this hand would be betting for value, not as a bluff. So really, you want villain to call any bet you make since your range is much stronger then his.

Even if you shoved on the river, since you really cannot put Villain on QT or J9 or 98 (or indeed A7), you want Villain to call.

You got scared of getting stacked on the last hand of the night. It happens. Go study up on SPR, it helps you know when you can commit postflop profitably, even if villain flops a set this time.

SINCE he's loose post flop, I'd be praying to get raised. $100 flop, and ding ding, we're committed no matter what. Live and learn my friend. You need to make a plan before the cards come out. In this situation, the plan would be, any non ace flop, I'm betting $xxx and calling a shove.
