1/2NL table is quite loose/passive, only been playing for ~4 orbits. Raised pots:limped pots is about 1:1, regularly get 5+ callers and then it gets checked all the way to the river. No 2! so far.

The guy on the button to my left is especially tight and fit-or-fold.

Hand:

3 limps

CO: Hero ($190): KQ Raises $12

Button folds, 4 calls

FLOP (~$60): K23

Checks to Hero.

Given the # of players and the draw, how much should I bet here?

$40-$50

Also might make it 15-18 pre but that's just me.

I am a bit of a nit, but I would not have raised, I would have limped behind.

As played, you raised and hit your card. I would bet around $40 or $50 and reevaluate after the turn.

B/F $40 depending on player profiles and stack sizes. You want flush draws and weaker kings to call. $50 likely folds out all of those from decent players.

Rusty and will, I think your suggestions are fine and I'm kind of ambivalent about my PF play with this hand. Raising more means I play a medium sized pot against few opponents, raising less (as played) means I play a big multiway pot, and limping means I play a small multiway pot. KQs does fine in any of those situations methinks. I prefer raising to limping though because I'd like to buy that button.

Sounds like I played the hand normally.

Results: raised 45, all fold. I wouldn't want to play TPGK in a multiway pot on later streets so I was happy with this.

Friendly guy started talking about me overvaluing AK afterward, recommending that I not raise since I will only hit 30% of the time. Amusing advice.

KQs is a premium hand: raise

raise sizing is fine, depending on table at 1-2 i would raise to 11-16 with 3 limpers and bet 2/3 on the flop

More pre as others have said. $17 sounds bout right.

As played $45 is standard.

Did that friendly guy also bring up the fact that you don't even have a pair yet when you're putting big money into the pot? I love people who think like that...he might also be a proponent of cold-calling with AA from EP so he can trap that young whippersnapper who's always trying to raise him out of pots.
