Reads on villain: Seems real solid. Pretty standard TAG, however he recently started limping alot preflop, and he raised with K10o from the BB against limpers once. Has been quite lately though.

Preflop, it's 8 handed and he raises to $10 UTG. Two loose callers, I call in the SB with JJ. I have $85 now, pot is $40. Flop comes 742. Best action now?

Also, shove preflop or just call?

Yeah, probably the best play now that I think about it, because I'm probably 50%ish against UTG's range and there's $20 dead money.

As played though, best line on the flop?

I think the best play is c/r allin, although leading for 25 and shoving every turn is a good option too

Is $80 a standard stack for 1/2. Playing with such small stacks really limits your ability to "play Poker". You should consider buying in at least $200. This allows you to fire more bullets. You are able to push people off hands. I'd try to get it in Pre. If villain raised with AK AQ its unlikely your going to get the money now.

If you think Villain will continuation bet then maybe check raise.

Better play would be to bet pot and call any raise. If you just get called then shove turn.

Best move though is to buy in for $200.

get it in pre.

as played depends on villians c-bet % if its a given check raise it all in.

top up your stack?

stack sizes are awkward, but we need to be popping this pre 100% of the time in this spot from SB imo

Get the money in now, IMO. You will get called by worse.

Shove it all in pre-flop, you will most likely get heads up against the raiser and as you said he has been raising thin. You do not have enough money to stop and go and you have to be worried about overcards on the flop of you call or raise to say 30-40 better off getting it all in pre

I dont like a shove pre... I think you fold out way too many of his weak opens. And you will def not be called by the two who called the original bet.

I dont like flatting so much either.

A decent raise needs to be about 40 bucks. Leaving you with ~40 behind. Which is no good either.

This is a clear indicator you should always have a stack of atleast 100bb.

So after a little further thought, even though I'm gonna cringe that I'm mentioning it... What do you guys think about making a minraise to 25 and shoving any flop? I mean we already know we are pretty much going to the felt with this hand anyway, so why not try and get that lil bit extra?

I never start a hand with less than 100 BB, so I'm probably out-to-lunch on playing with less than 50 BB. But I'm guessing the more shortstacked we are the more aggressive we should be with our big hands preflop, looking to get the money in as soon as possible. We can't put in 10% of our stack to ~kinda setmine here OOP. A normal raise here for me would be 3x + limpers; if called that would create a $120 pot with only $50 behind, so easy shove on flop. Or I'd just shove preflop, especially against a guy who's been raise KTo outta the blinds. ETA: With larger stacks of 100+ BB, I'm totally cool with setmining here OOP.

As played, I'd probably just check and hope some dead money goes in before I push.
