1/2 Flop Set vs Thinker 1/2 Flop Set vs Thinker

Villain (UTG): 30's black guy, being loud and obnoxious. Not because he's drunk but rather that's just who this guy is. Likes to take stabs at random boards and when called by the field will say "I need runner runner dealer." Doesn't overvalue his 1 pair hands, and has played his big hands fast. Has c-bet some obvious boards. When he bets, with a draw/weak made hand/monster, it's always for the pot.

Hero (CO): 20's white kid with a jew fro and mexi-stache. Last hand, I iso'd an 80/5 guy OTB with 47 but got called by the blinds this time. BB short stack shoved for $45 on the flop and I called with my flush draw. I tabled it when it missed as advertisement for the big stacks. Villain has commented "Nice hand kid" when I've pot controlled with overpairs on wet boards so I think he thinks I have some game. Anyone who has played with me knows that simply isn't true.

Villain starts the hand with $500. Hero covers.

Preflop ($3)
Villain opens to $12, 2 calls, Hero calls with 33, blinds fold.

Flop ($46): J73

Villain leads for $40. Hero raises to $115. Villain folds.

This seems really standard, especially after tabling my flush draw the hand prior. I've been going back n' forth in my head as to whether I should be raising this flop or flatting to keep his A-high's in & rep a missed flush draw on the turn. Not sure why I'm posting here, to be honest. I know this is the standard and correct play. I guess I'm being results oriented -- knowing that, in hindsight, there was a fancier play to be made that would have gotten me paid more.
