1/2
Edgewater casino, Canada

Hero: mid 20s white male. Should have a solid image to villain, not partaking of the limping and calling preflop as much which puts me in the tight category, but one of the better players at the table. Stack $290

Villain: mid 20s white male, wearing a ball cap and glasses. He sat down 30 min ago and I haven't seen much of him. He's called some preflop raises and folded a flop, but beyond that nothing. Seems semi competent by composure at the table. Stack $130

On to the hand!

UTG limps, Villain in MP limps, CO limps, BTN limps, Hero completes in SB with 22 and BB checks his option.

Flop: JJ6 $12

All check to villain who bets 5, folds to hero who calls, rest fold.

Turn: JJ6T $20

Hero checks, villain checks.

River: JJ6T2 $20

Hero tosses a 25 chip in, Villain tanks for ~30 sec before raising it 45 more, Hero..?

Is this an insta call, value shove, or sigh fold?

Fold flop why are you floating oop a dry board against a short stacker with no reads with others behind who can easily have the J in a limped pot. As played this is as trivial as it gets. We binked our card. This is never a fold given his stack. Shove for value.

Lol, he checks behind on the turn to raise you on the river? I guess you're up against a flush, or J-2. I don't understand what else does this, even J-2 was played really weird.

I can't see a single way how you lose this hand, unless this dude is setting a trap, in a limped in pot of all hands, with a 20 dollar pot of all times...

Yeah its a shove for value.
So you know, you have to take his stack to break even on the flop float.
I hope you won

I decided to float because his bet didn't seem like a J, more seemed like a feeler bet, a small PP, 6x, or just a hand trying to take the pot down now and I felt with good confidence with the 6x, PP, and air hands that turn c/c and I can steal it on river. The only two players I had to worry about after flatting were BB and UTG, which I guess could've checked a J with ill intentions, this is true.

Flop: Fold the flop.

River: I expect to be shown JT or TT at showdown the majority of the time with this action. A flush seems unlikely and even 1/2 players are unlikey to go crazy on paired 3 flush boards with just trips. We only have to be good 1/3 of the time though so I would call.

obv flop is bad. river is a sigh/whatever. vs nittier players you can fold but vs relatively unknown player, possibly a sigh call. I don't get why Jx would check turn without having boated up tbh

Im shoving for value otr. These games are so loose and people does really weird thinn in them - dont expect villian to ever fold Jx.

I think it's a weird A6D. Limps with the suited A, puts out a feeler on the flop to see if anyone has a J, pauses on the turn since he's going to hope for his flush, and raises the nut flush on the river. He's sure he's good so will call anything.

cant even put in 130$ with a fullhouse but players are stacking off 300+bb with less than the nuts right?

+1

JT way more likely than TT, not only because of combos, but also because preflop and flop action
