1/2, 9 handed, villain has $175 and we cover. Villain is a bad LAG, she knows hero is a winning TAG, and generally plays more passively vs hero than normal, but she definitely will show aggression with strong value hands and strong draws, and on occasion with marginal made hands when hero shows weakness, but that's usually when she's tilting and she's definitely not right now.

OTTH

It's folded to villain in HJ who opens $12 and is then folded to hero in BB who 3 bets to $50 with J J and villain calls.

Flop ($101): Q 7 6. Do we shove for $125 here, or check?

Why not both?

Shoving is the worst option imo, just check or bet small, trying to get her to spaz.

Given that Villain is in the HJ, she would normally open with a large range, but that range narrowed when V called Hero’s 3 bet.. I imagine she would have shoved your 3 bet if she had AA or KK. If her range of calling 3 bets OOP is the top 20 percent of hands plus suited connectors 65+ and minus KK+, you’re a 67 percent favorite on the flop. If her range is 10 percent and the suited connectors, you’re at 52 percent favorite on the flop.

Let’s say you make a half-pot bet on the flop. If she is on a FD or SD, you’ve just given her the pot odds to call. If she hit the flop with a QX, you are way behind. If she whiffed the pot, she can just fold.

If you bet 30 on the flop, you deny her the pot odds for a FD or SD, but you are giving her great implied odds. If a brick falls on the turn, and you shove, it’s an easy fold for her. If she had QX, you are way behind. What are you going to do when a diamond, 5, or 8 falls on the turn?

If you check, she might shove with anything. Her range now narrows, and your JJ is just a bluff catcher. If you check, and she checks, you’ve just given her a free card.

As Phil Gordon wrote, if there is a hell in poker, it’s playing JJ out of position against an aggressive player. But here it is a clear shove.

This is a contradiction. If she's shoving with anything (and bad LAGs often will), her range is not narrowed at all.

is V a spazz that calls everything? then bet
is V a spazz that bets everything? then check call
if both - then it doesn't matter

I can get behind a bet or check/shove, but I never just shove. I think I prefer check/shove.
