1/2 Borgata

Villain ($145) - 20's white kid. Pretty LP and not very aggro post. He didn't mind calling down, but didn't do much betting. I think the one exception was he bet $7/called a raise to $20 on a 642ss flop with probably A6 (he just showed the 6). Turn he c/c around $25, river was the As and it went check check. The other guy showed 77 or 88.

Hero ($500) - playing TAG (I hope). I had a small run of great hands, with AA twice in a row (showed the first time, stacked a guy with aces full the 2nd time). I also won a few other pots without showing.

1 limp
Hero (HJ) AK raises to $12
Villain (sb) calls $12
limper calls

Pot ~ 35
Flop K92
2 checks, Hero bets $23, Villain calls, limper folds

The board is pretty dry so I went with 2/3 here. I think I can easily get stacks in vs this LP player even with this bet sizing.

Pot ~ 80
Turn: K924
Villain donks $25, hero?

This was an odd donk. I am never folding to this bet vs this villain. I was debating whether to raise, but I figured either he just somehow sucked out 2 pair, he flopped a set and is doing a stop-and-go, or there's a good chance he has some kind of worse king that's taking a weird line.

I think if he has KT or something if I raise him he might get away from it, but if I call he'll either bet again or c/c the river and I can get more value.

There's also really no draws besides some combo of QJT gutshots, so it's not like I need to blow him off a draw.

Hero just calls $25

Pot ~$130
River: K9249
Villain donks $30, hero calls? shoves for villain's last $55?

I actually don't mind the 9 since I don't think it's very likely he has a 9 unless he has something like 94s that sucked out on the turn. I don't think villain would keep betting something like K4 that got counterfeited either.

He doesn't have much left, and I think he can't get away from kings at this point. Should I just shove for his last $55 or so? If villain had c/c I would have got him in on the river anyway even when the 9 hit. So is there really any difference given his line?

put him all in. sounds like you have him outkicked. KQ, KJ, KT?

At that point, put him all in

You said that he was really passive and then he donk bet against you... With no draws on the board... so he probably got 2 pair or a set... With the way he played... I would put him on a set. Small bet, he want to keep you in the pot, want to get money for his set. He doestn want you to check-check so he bet...

Limp - call = Probably pocket pair... I really doubt he has K9...

Jam the river. The 9 is a really good card for you and if he has a house he will usually bet more on the river as it is pretty clear u have the king.

If you lose, oh well it's a cooler and he only had 150. Usually you jam, they call and when you show ur ak they hold the cards in their hand about to muck with a despondent expression before flashing kj as if it is biggest cooler ever!

I guess this hand isn't very interesting, so I'll just post results.

I actually shoved, villain called. He didn't show, but he said he had a "good hand." I guess that was KJ or KQ.

I have been shoving a lot of spots like this for a while and been consistently getting owned, so I was starting to think that maybe I should just call.

Looks like just calling is dumb, so I feel better. Thanks for the comments!

I just call against most. If you consider that you have a blocker to alot of K-X villain should have, and that he rarely takes this line as a bluff, his value hands on the river have quite a few 9-X, sets etc. obv never folding, but shoving seems pretty bad to me

I think calling here is probably fine, as a shove really doesn't usually get called by worse. Unless you have a read that he is a giant calling station i stick to that plan. A very good question to ask yourself in these spots is what worse hands call and what better hands fold, and see if these hands match the range you assign him given the way he has played his hand.

I would've played it pretty much exactly the way you did preflop and on the flop. But on the turn, on that board, I would've just raised him all in. And if he has a set or something, oh well.

The way you played it though, I would just call on the end, in case we are beat.
