Ramblings: First time playing in about 2 months today. Not a good day...My god, I just need to work on my patience I guess, this may be my leak, but my God the amount of time I go without getting hands, session after session, is amazing. I make a game out of it sometimes, count the # of times I get dealt 72 or 82 compared to AK/AQ. Should be the same frequency, but I get 72 or 82 many many more times than AK/AQ, session after session...

Onto the hand. Reads: Middle aged black guy. Seems TAG. Only slightly unorthodox hand was he open limped 22, then bet into a few players in a limped pot on an 5 5 3 board. Got one caller (BB), then bet again on a 10 turn.

I have 99 in the BB. UTG+1 limps. Villain makes it $13 next to UTG+1. Folds to me, I call, UTG+1 calls. Flop comes 775. I have $75 behind, pot is $40. Checks to villain who bets $45. Hero? Also, UTG+1 is a bit short too but has me covered.

Shove pre? Why call off greater than 10% of your stack when you hate so many flops.

I agree with DevinLake, it's either shove or fold preflop. I'm actually leaning towards a fold because villain is a tag and is in ep. 99 probably doesn't match up too well against that range. We are not deep enough to set mine.

I would fold before I would shove.

What's so horrible with pre flop? Also, by flatting rather than shipping, I can learn whether UTG+1 limped with AA-KK.

Anyway, is this a reasonable range for villain? Should I take into account the chance UTG+1 is sitting there with like 1010 or a flopped boat/quads? Is that so rare I can just ignore UTG+1?

Anyway, range for villain (MP):

88-AA, AK suited and offsuit, AQ suited. I discounted AQo and the AJ hands because he may not semi bluff with two overs all the time, but he'd certainly play JJ like this all the time. In other words, his range is two big cards and an overpaid (except 88), but he'd bet 100% of the time w/ an overpaid and less than 100% of the time with two over cards.

Against this range, I'm 46.3% and should get all the money in.

With your stack size you cant flat pre. You are OOP and putting in ~15% of your stack. What do you do when the flop is low cards? What about high?

Fold > Shove > Flat
