1/2 94o in BB, raise for value? 1/2 94o in BB, raise for value?

5 way limped pot, I check the 94. SB is very old man, tightest player at table both pre and post. Flop is K92 10$ in pot, checks through. Turn is 4, SB bets 15$ I call, others fold. River is 8 40 in pot SB bets 20 I call.

Does anyone raise the turn or maybe river?

I small raise the turn to 40 hoping to get called

1. Most Kings that were pot controlling are going to call
2. any flush draw is going to call and you don't want to give away equity

The key to winning money in poker isn't about making good hands, it is about making monster hands, it is about getting money into the pot whilst ahead.

I am not going for broke with a big blind special 2p. This guy could have a flush or he could have K8, and if you raise the river he's only calling you with one of those. I think you played it fine aside from not raising the turn. Im fine just calling the river

Will he call your turn raise with AK/KQ/KJ/KT?
If he will, raise. If he won't, don't raise.

Also, will he limp in with K9? If he is as tight as you say, his range here should he like KJ-AK, 22/99 and AA.

Pretty good run out.
And actually having said that, I might put in a small raise on the river here since we didn't raise the turn. I think he can call a min raise with AK here often enough.

I think he would have called a turn raise, and I probably could have raised there. Thanks for the responses. He had a K7hh.

This guy is not tight.
You should re-evaluate your read(s).

Yeah, I think he was the kind that is tight, but plays the SB for a buck from time to time. Every other pot he had UTG range type cards, and nuttish hands post. Is there an OMC type that plays for buck on SB? If so that is this guy.

Thanks for the responses. always appreciated.

Your advice is usually really reliable but both of these groups both complete the small blind way too wide:
1. Really bad loose players
2. Really bad tight players

Also, really bad players will call river raises when they're beat so we should definitely raise the river to 50.
