The SB is the villain. In the previous hand he called a $7 raise multiway in the BB. The EP raiser c-bet $15 on a A82 and SB called. Turn 10 SB leads $20, EP calls. River 7x SB bets $50 EP calls with AJ and wins. SB tables 10Q and is shaking his head up until the next deal.

Reads: villain is mid 40's, fat white clean cut beard. slumped over in his chair only using one hand to play. likes to limp behind and see flops. Probably in the mafia. Hasn't done anything out of the ordinary in the 20 minutes I've been at the table. Avg age at table is 45 and everyone's pretty much loose passive preflop and weak passive post. Most hands going to SD.

Hand:
Me (btn): $150
Vil (SB): $250

Straddle on.

EP Limps
MP Limps
Hero limps BTN w/ 77
Blinds call, Straddle checks.

Flop: 236

Checks around to hero who bets $17. SB calls in rhythm.

Turn: Q

SB checks.
Hero ?

Thanks for any input.

Check turn

Consider snap-calling a bet of up to 30 into 58 on any non-4, non-5 river.

If he checks to us on the river we're probably checking behind. Hard to get called by worse on this board.

We can consider raising preflop.

Looks good. Check back the turn and call any river that isn't a 4, 5 or A (A5/A4 get there). Check back river if he doesn't bet unless it's a 7. Not going to get called by worse.

I don't think the average 1/2 live player folds for $20 OTT w/ pair+straight/flushdraw type hands. More importantly they don't seem to raise too much either, so betting gets value from hands like 34, 65, etc., which on the flop would call "in rhythm". I would bet about 20-25 and unless the river is a non-club 2/3/Q I am probably checking behind, otherwise I might try and squeeze another $30-$35 out of 6.

sick soulread imo.

i bet 1/2 pot. should get us a bunch of checks otr from his medium-low flushes where we can just check behind. it's kind of a blocker bet to prevent him blocking on the river. we still charge 6x, maybe get some better PPs to fold too.

def. raise PF here and as played check turn. and call only a reasonable smallish bet on river.
