Hero is a reg at this game. Has an image of being tight, but capable of pulling big moves and getting tricky. I have played with all players at this table and they all respect my game.

Villain is a semi-poker friend. He deals at a local game for a living. We talk and occasionally go on smoke breaks together. He doesn't play too often, but he's around the game alot. He's tighter than the typical 1/2 player, but still isn't very good. Usually cbets flops, but occasionally checks in multi-way pots when an overcard comes to his pair. His pre-flop raise size is usually correlated to the strength of his hand. He usually picks his spots well and has driven his stack to ~700. I've caught him bluff-raising in the past, but I doubt he remembers it (over a year ago).

Calling Station is in his late 40s. Plays any suited ace, king, and connectors. Sticks around too much post and pre flop. Readily stacks off with top pair.

The game is super deep and is your typical loose-passive game. I'm short-stack at the table with 175bb.

1/2 - Effective Stacks ~$350

Hero is in SB.

Calling Station limps. He's been limp-calling alot.
Villain raises to $20 in MP. His typical raises are $12-15, so I'm reading this raise for strength.

Folds to Hero. Call with 66. Reasoning: I'm deep. His raise says I should be able to get this in good against an overpair if I flop a set. I've found position is less important in these spots because the hand is easier to play: set = make monies. no set = fold.

Station calls.

Flop ($60):

K62

I check with the intentions of check-raising. Reasoning: his calling range is the same as his bet/calling range (AA, AK, KK), but he's can also cbet hands that fold to my lead (QQ, JJ, TT, AQ).

Checks around.

Turn ($60):
J

Hero leads for $30.

I can pretty much take AA and AK out of his range here. I feel he cbets those 100% of the time. I'm betting the $30 for value versus the calling station. Also, I feel if villain calls here, I'm probably beat by KK or JJ. He may call one street with QQ here, but he will probably fold it on the river.

So my intentions versus main villain are to bet/fold both the turn and river. My intentions versus calling station are to bet/call both the turn and river.

Calling Station folds. Villain calls.

River ($120):
8

Hero bets $55.

Villain cuts out calling chips, takes a deep breath, "looks" disgusted, then grabs a handful more chips and raises to $185.

Hero insta-folds.

Reasoning: villain's range is super strong. IMO, it has to be KK or JJ. Slowplaying KK makes sense because that board looks so dry. JJ also makes sense because he can check that dry flop and see what we do on the turn. Once he hits a set, he can wait for me to bet river before he raises. He just calls with anything but a bluff, but what can he be bluffing in this spot?

Should we lead this flop? Bet more on the turn? River sizing? Did we lose the minimum on this hand? Is it possible we folded the best hand? Should have even called pre-flop?

Thoughts?

Though I think the river fold is correct, I think you may have narrowed his preflop/postflop range too far.

Villain has a flush. I would have checked/called river bet. As played, fold is fine. Check-raise flop is fine, but you should have bet more on turn to make him pay to draw.
