just looking for some general feed back on my situation, first off I have a bankroll of a little over 5k. I was playing a lot of 1/3 to build up my roll but due to moving I can't play 1/3 any more. The casino that I play at has an extremely high rake, up to 8 dollars or 10%. They also rake the pot even if there is no flop which sucks. My options out here are either play 1/2 or 2/5. the 1/2 games generally people are very short stacked having around 100 or sometimes less in front of them, occasionally there will be some bigger stacks. the 2/5 games however play awesome not too huge but not to small either. lately instead of buying in max (200) to 1/2, I have been short stacking 2/5 buying in around (250) and topping off if it goes down. obviously I change my game up and play different when im shortstacked then i do when i double up or have a bigger stack in front of me.
I would just like some feed back on what you guys think of this does any one else experience this at all.
Soon i will be going back to my 1/3 game which is great because it plays perfect for my bankroll, but I just feel the 1/2 game plays to small out here and its tough to beat the rake as well.
I figure if I go on a good run at 2/5 soon and just keep playing well ill build my bankroll up even quicker, however I am also aware of the downside of that.
also the players at the 2/5 game I play at are in general awful, way loose preflop where their tells on their faces, the whole table is usually 2 grinders and a bunch of foreigners that are just there to gamble.
thanks for the feedback fellow 2+2ers
