All regulars, most are are really nitty, two players who are crazy LAG.
Villain is a good regular, standard TAG player and occasionally becomes LAG when tilted.
I frequently play with Villain and know most of his range, I know that if a flop doesn't hit his range I can usually make him fold or if I hit he usually pays me off, always calling me light and thinking I am bluffing.
Effective Stacks:
$200 - Hero - BB
$180 - Villain - MP
Hero: 10c8c
Preflop:
A regular opens from middle position to $8, Villain 3 bets to $16. Everyone folds, Hero calls $14 from the BB. Original raiser calls.
Flop ($49)
10d Jd 4s
Hero checks, original raiser checks, Villain leads out for $30. Hero calls, original raiser folds.
Turn ($109)
Jc
Hero open shoves for $154. Villain tanks and calls. Villain tables AK. River is a brick.
Thoughts on my play?
The reason I shove there is because I know that there are a lot of 3 bet combos in his range that I have beat then beat me such as: 77, 88, 99, AQ, AK, A2s-A5s and from previous history he calls me with Ace high frequently so I thought that the turn is the only spot that I can get value for my hand and if he folds I get the pot of $109. I thought with more cards on the board it will be hard for him to call me with A high.
He never has AA, KK, QQ, JJ in this spot because he always reraises more then a min raise with those hands preflop. He usually doenst have 10,10 because I am holding a 10 and the only hand he might have here is AJ but thats only one hand that beats me.
pre action very marginal. you will be out of position and youre not very deep. I am not liking the shove on the turn. I think you got lucky playing again this player, but usually you will only be getting a call from a hand that has you beat. Check/Call would be more a line I would take. You may be facing a tough decision on the river. Overall you want to avoid putting yourself in tough situations. So I would actually fold the hand preflop.
