6 Handed Cash Game 1/1
Splashy Game overall, players not very good, little discipline, V is decent, mostly tight, capable of occasional bluff.
Hero is on BB with 6h,6c 240 stack
UTG calls, +1 calls, MP folds, Button raises 10, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG and +1 call. 5 to the flop.
Pot: 52
Flop:6s Kh 4s
SB checks, Hero bets 40, folds to Button who calls after tanking, sb folds.
Mostly my game has been to value bet the river at these games, but I have been mixing it up last two sessions and trying to JAM more on the turn with the nuts and good cards so that I can semi bluff more. My reputation is so solid that everytime I bet big everybody at the table starts calling out all the nut hands saying there is no way I am bluffing. So naturally I have been bluffing more, which means I should fast play some good cards to keep my range solid.
Anyway my plan is to JAM the Turn if no spade hits. Villain has less than a full pot behind with a stack left at 80.
Pot:132
Turn:2s
Damn, kind of caught off guard here, really did not want to see a spade. If my strategy is to semi bluff more I guess I should JAM here. I also believe V is a good enough player to let go of a flush draw on the Flop with a suited connector like 98 spades. Anyway hindsight is 20-20, at the time I was thinking this was a bad card for my perceived range so I check and Button checks.
My hope is that I am probably still good and if no other spade comes out then I can put out a value bet on the river.

So damn, worst run out possible here. I still have a damn good hand but the odds I am beat increase dramatically. So what would you do now? V has a darn good king almost for sure, and maybe a spade, 50-50 really.
Thinking back I should do a check call for less than 50% of pot, and a check fold for greater than 50% of pot. As played I bet 40 and folded to a JAM. I could have used a smaller blocker of say 30 that could have been better, but writing this out now a check call seems better.
Anyway would you ever use a blocker bet here trying to get a cheap showdown or try to fold out some weak flushes???

I would have bet the turn, but I totally understand the check and it might be the better play. The only problem with a blocker bet here is that nobody folds a spade, so I just check river and pray for a cheap showdown.
