Hero has been playing TAG all night and villain isn't opening that much, check raised a couple flops but has shown the nuts or 2 pair+ everytime. Middle aged probably 50s oriental.
Hand:

Villain (200bb) makes it 10$ utg+1 next player calls hero (150bb) wakes up with AK behind them and makes it 42$. Folds around to villain who calls other guy folds.

Flop (93$): AQ6

Villain checks, hero bets $65, villain raises to $165. Who ships who folds?

because he's asian, i put him on a set of 6s and fold while staring him down.

tough spot though. if he flopped a set or 2p, there's not a lot of reason for him to raise the flop and force you to fold. there's not a lot of xhxh hands that you can have here except like Kh Qh. doubt you are 3betting JhTh.

i think i like a little smaller of a pfr also. but i'm just splitting hairs, i guess.

I thought he had AQs or QQ, he hasn't bluffed when check raising so I folded with about $180 behind =\

I would have checked the flop.

I can't think of a ton of hands you're going to be able to get value from with a flop continuation bet. In a 3bet pot, your opponent typically won't have worse Ax hands or a Qx type hand. Your opponent also won't frequently show up with possible heart draws or straight draws. I guess sometimes you will see a suited broad way for a combo draw or some random Ax type hand. But that likely isn't the norm for a 3bet pot vs your described opponent. This seems like a situation where you are likely way ahead of a one pair hand that won't call a continuation bet OR way behind 2pair or a set.

I think by checking back the flop it allows our opponent to make more mistakes.
