I dont think he meant everytimr you 3bet any hand you lose value. Hes saying in this specific hand its less profitable than a flat(although 3betting isnt bad) because he has little fold eqiity vs villains ep open raising range and go to the flop woth a smaller SPR which is the opposite of what you want in position with speculative hands. The value in this hand is to see a cheap flop in position against a range of hands that is strong enough to pay you off the few times you outflop them. If villain was mp/lp i would lean more towards 3bet.
