At my 1/3 NL game, that means I'd have to play 6,666,666 sessions to make $1B. I've played 609 sessions in the last 10 years, which means it would take me about 110,000 years, or about 1,341 average lifetimes. Course I'm assuming the rake will have gone up a bit over that span too, so probably longer.
In seriousness, it doesn't really affect your hourly (with the exception I'll explain below). Some sessions it'll take the guy who's winning at $x/hr 15 minutes to win 50bbs and call it a day. But other times it'll take him 36 hours to do that (assuming he plays just as well at the 36th hour as he does his first, a big assumption). But in the end he stills makes $x/hr.
The exception is whether you're much better at shortstack than deepstack (or you just plain suck bad at deepstack), in which case you are better off getting up / ratholing as soon as you become deep, and that will affect your longterm $x/hr positively.
