Case hit the flop spot on. A flop with a J and a T and a flush draw smashes your opponents ranges. We should be building a pot beginning on the flop.

If you are scared money you may need to bolster your bank roll to play correctly.

But it is also helpful to study hAnd reading and do some combinatorics and equity work. By doing so you can prove mathematically to yourself the equity advantage you have in spots like this vs your opponents range. Only when villains take persistent aggressive action should you begin to narrow their range to to mostly hands that beat you and be in a pot control mode.

The leak has already been mentioned: scared money. Your in-game decisions should be affected by your stack size, not your bankroll.

Scared money is very seldom winning money.

A useful rule of thumb is, when you have a great hand, you should raise unless you can articulate a good reason not to.

You flopped a set, you should raise unless you can explain why you are not raising.

Flopped sets do extremely well against guys who don't fold.

Especially when TP on the flop trips up and you make a damn boat.

Lesson learned. I really wanted to bet. I told myself mentally to bet just didn't bet due to running bad with houses getting beat by bigger and quads. I guess this is just one of those spots if u have jt or aj I pay u off. Need to stop being such a nit especially when I have a monster

Not betting 33 here isn't 'being a nit' dude. It's being scared. Not raising the river if someone bets when you have 33 might be nitty.

ever heard of bet-folding? That's what you should be doing all the time against passive, stationy opponents - betting very thin for value, and folding to any agression they show. If they are literally never folding, you can bet as thin as decent K high for value in many spots.

Also, just what everybody said before: if you feel anyhow emotionally invested with money you use to play, dont play in that game. That's how gambling addiction starts.
