Why can't everyone fold pre? (Tell me how poorly I played this) Why can't everyone fold pre? (Tell me how poorly I played this)

Table had just started and I was down pretty quick in a game of 2/3. I play fairly LAG and as I chip up I tighten up.

V1 UTG (115BB) opens 15$ (Doesn't play much but isn't a strong player.)
Calls from lojack (100bb) plays wider range against looser player
Call from cutoff (160bb) super loose house player who just reracks and throws chips at table
Call from button (100bb) standard player
Hero (36bb) raise from straddle to 60$ AQ

V1 UTG snap calls everyone else folds
Im short stacked getting it in on most flops.
Flop comes J74 rainbow, Hero go all in Villain calls
Villain has 67
Turn River duds

Should I have just flatted the straddle. Raised larger. I was fine with being called off with AJ suited or AK, but to be called with 67 suited pre? How should I have played this differently, other than topping off to 100bb pre. Should I just stay in the game and hope he keeps opening 65% UTG 4x?

with $100 and $60 in the pot already just shove pre

you're happy having 100% equity of $60 and you're happy having 60% equity of $245

Good rule of thumb pre-flop is to just push all in if you don't have enough for a bet post flop. You are betting 60 pre-flop when you only have $108 total. That leaves a bet of 48 post-flop into a pot of 120+ dead money, barely a 1/3 bet. Using the analogy of a paint brush and a canvas. There aren't many ways to "paint" the hand with only $48 behind in a 120+ pot. Pushing all in pre-flop is the best play.

Yea thanks. I thanks I would've been happy for it to fold around so would've been best to raise all in instead of 60.

Shove pre man, you got a short stack, and this is the prefect opportunity to rip it in...

In the Villain's defense 7d6d has more equity against KK+,AJs+,KQs,AQo+ than AdJd does.

That's the reason people open 76s in early position and call 3bets with it.

Any reason you are sitting with only $108 in front of you at what looks like a pretty good table?

With $60 already in the pot and only $108 in my stack, I'd simply shove preflop. ETA: Our sizing isn't horrible or anything though; if people are going to commit with worse hands for > 1/2 stacks it's still a good spot.

With only << 1/3 PSB left for the flop, I'm also just shoving the flop.

You're aware that getting called by 76 preflop for committed stacks + dead money in this spot is +EV, right? I haven't done the math, and it *might* be the case it's actually more EV if he folds his equity preflop, but whatever, whether he calls or folds are still incredibly profitable.

No idea what that means either, but I'm about as LAG as a winning player can get and my specialty is short stacking.
