Hero calls $45 into $180 pot, SB shows 89. Hero deserves to lose. My question is do you guys ever completely butcher a hand and think why do I still try??? I mean I know where I made the mistakes I’m not even asking for help I want to know if you occasionally play a hand so bad you think to yourself did I just have a seizure during that hand because idk what the hell happened?

I don't think flop check is bad in the locked pot with no side bet. I'd probably raise turn as villain's sizing is essentially a check. AP, I guess river is a sigh fold, but calling is not really that bad.

Only reason I called river at that point is $45 to call into a $180 pot I have to be good less than 25% of the time to break even right. I might have been wrong in thinking I had that much equity idk. This was the old man game that starts at 9am weekdays and it had been running around 15 mins so far I think I should have given more credit to even KT or AT for the SB and folded river

I think it happens to everybody sometimes. There is a moderately famous hand where Phil Ivey folded the winning hand on the river because he had already given up on the hand and didn't notice that he had backed into a flush.

Recognizing when it does happen and why is an important skill. Did you just loose focus one hand or are you getting tired? Did you misread the situation or did you feel entitled to win with a good hand? Are you getting more aggressive because the table is weak or because your tilting?

For the hand you give the biggest mistake may be the preflop raise. If you know the button is waiting for a good chance shove then an isolation raise with a weaker hand is a mistake. After that checking flop is standard and calling turn is also. You could get away on river but you are getting great odds if you think your top pair may take the main pot also.

Fold or raise turn to oblige Villains to call with concrete holdings and fold their bull**** 89 who river you.

AP, raise turn if you want to take control of the hand or fold and let these acrobats keeping up with their stunts until they hit the floor.

Shove turn or at least bet half pot

1st mistake is raising QT with a super short 12BB BTN who will likely shove.

Meh, QTs is strong enough to not care about the times BU shoves.

Not sure if I would call Q high for $45 even if I thought I saw the Villain's hand during the play ... in case I "saw" it wrong... there are plenty of QJ+ bluffs we don't even beat.

It would take one hell of a read for me to call it off with QT.

Mistakes happen. Work to not make the same mistake again (even though you will).

You're being much too hard on yourself.
Sure, you could have played the hand a little better.
Nobody plays perfectly all of the time.
Important thing is you recognize you're making mistakes.

Don’t beat your self up too much. But, whenever you see a donk small bet in to a big pot, it’s usually not a player trying to be sneaky with a monster. I would make it routine to raise at least half pot here.

We all do silly things op. I once turned down a threesome.

Pre is fine, I definitely like your decision not to bet flop. You aren’t doing great against even a really really wide shoving range so even if everyone else missed their hand and they decide to fold you still aren’t likely to win the pot. We don’t have any backdoor draws nor do we have good turns to barrel with short stacks. We could easily get check raises and blown off our equity.

Yes you should probably have raised the turn, you usually have the best hand and our opponents will have a lot of equity against just a pair of tens so if they fold it’s fine. However, don’t beat yourself up, I see far far worse plays on a daily basis.
