Old man MP - Check calls the majority of his hands. Has gotten caught in a bluff that made zero sense. Leads with any pair flush draw. $250

Hero - Covers. Solid Image. Table captain. $1700 in chips.

limped pot family pot. Hero limps 7s7d OTB. (there was ZERO fold equity at this table, so set mining for $3 was almost always a good choice)

Pot $27

As4s7s

Checked to MP who leads $15.

Folds to Me. Pops it to $45. Folds back to MP who calls $117

Turn Ah

Flop is now As4s7sAh

Turn MP checks, I bet $95 (stack was off by 5 otherwise I would have bet 100)

MP calls.

River 3h.

MP checks

I jam.

Not sure what else you could do here. You already have over 55% of his stack so no choice but to shove here.

Not sure if your question is did you bet correctly or should you be worried about an AX hand where he hit another boat.

Either or

Should I have slowed down on the turn and given him credit for Ax hands?

Am I played scared monsters?

When you flop a set and turn boat, given most situations, you can't assume the worst. THis is when a successful poker player makes the proper bets to maximize equity.

Can he have AX and beat you? Of course. Is it probable? Nope.

Think you bet fine here and shoving the river is literally your only option. If I am shortstacked with let's say A10 and see that flop and turn, I want my chips in the pot and being that he is coming along for the ride, i'd put him on trips and you will take this down.

If he happens to have Ace rag and beat you, you also know that his starting stack is only $250 and that also minimizes your losses. very little risk for you here.

how many 7s are in the deck? If 2, then I check call.

Looks like you played it great. Any smaller boat, flush or Ax is calling.

I don't like the flop raise... it's basically an overplay.

I mean, it's a good raise if we're trying to balance our range (so we don't always have a flush when we raise), but balancing isn't usually a factor in LLSNL.

As played, I like the turn and river line.

Preflop is totally standard at a table like this, imo.

I think I'm cool with stacking off on the flop. Yes, it's possible we run into a flush, but we can also run into flush draws, big A (with or without flush draw), worse set, two pair, etc. Another flush card will totally kill our action (and probably hand). So I'd plan to get the chips in by the turn. I like offering poor 2:1 odds, which means raising to about $75 on the flop. This will also setup a $180ish pot with about a PSB behind, which we can then shove on the turn. No high spade is ever folding here, so let's max value them.

I'm fine with the big bet on the turn. If he has an A, he's unlikely to be folding now but will probably find a hero fold on the river if another spade comes. If he has a big spade, he also might call a big bet. I think a lot of people make a mistake here and bet small because we have the virtual nuts, but we have to make sure we get max value out of hands while we can, thus I'm cool with the big bet.

River is a trivial shove given that we only have 1/3 PSB left and he pays off with any A. If you ran into a bigger fullhouse (posting bias), whatever, reload, next hand.

Even though I typically have a "don't go broke in a limped pot rule", this pot is actually fairly large (SPR ~9), we have middle set, and can still be up against a zillion hands that we are better than (and will suck out a decent percentage of the time if we happen to be behind). I actually think we played the flop too slowly given stacks / potential action killers.
