Weird spot in 3-bet pot Weird spot in 3-bet pot

$1/$2 NL at Maryland Live. I've been sitting at the table for maybe an hour, hour and a half and the villain in this hand hasn't done anything too crazy. There were a couple players limping behind him a lot and I noticed him raising their limps unusually often, so I decided to play back at him this hand. This was the second time I had 3-bet preflop (the other time eventually showing A-K), and I had been playing pretty tight.

So a couple people limp in, he makes it $10 (which was not his standard open in this situation, generally he would raise more, which may be informative here given his postflop play), I decide to reraise to $30 in the cutoff with J-7 of spades, one of the limpers cold-calls (?!), the others fold and he calls. Flop comes T, 7, 4 rainbow, cold-caller checks, and now the original raiser leads out into me for $50, and he has what looks like not a lot more than $100 left behind.

I was a little bit puzzled by this play and was curious what you guys put him on, and what your action is.

I'm never in this spot because when I am 3betting light at 1/2 I go $40+.

When 3betting for value I go $30 to $35 to keep fish in.

All you have here is a bluff catcher with the 7 and another fish in the pot w you as well.

For that reason. I fold and let them think you had AK.

$40+ to win a pot less than half that seems a bit expensive to me. I'd agree it's a pretty obvious fold, but what hand are you putting him on and why would he play it this way?

Eff stack sizes were not given but, it looks as though they are shallow. Why are you 3! light here?

Ya the light 3 bet was a bluff so I like larger sizing because the way you make money in these spots are from folds, although it sounds like you weren't very deep so best to just not get fancy. As far as the pre flop raiser range could be a number of things 1010 99 88 77 44 A10 JJ. Obv some of those can be discounted unless he puts you on a AA KK and thinks u are never folding if he did flop a set.

That doesn't really matter as you have another V in the hand which IMO you should be equally worried about if not more so. fold which is the better of the 2 actions or shove and hope to get lucky which spew. So fold and don't level yourself into furtherin the damage.
