THIS IS ONLINE. MODS MOVED IT HERE FOR SOME REASON

Villain is new at the table and bought in for max 500 and hero covers

Folds around to Hero in the SB w/ AdAs who raises to $15
v flats

JcTc8s
Pot $27

Hero bets $20
V calls

JcTc8s 2h
Pot $67

Hero bets $55
v calls

JcTc8s 2h 4s
pot $177

Hero bets $145
v shoves for $376

Hero?

Hero c/c river?

Hero sizing?

feels odd to say the least. why would v turn his hand into a bluff? If he thinks I am bluffing just call?

Raise bigger pre.

It's live poker, don't make it affordable for big stacks to draw out on you.

In my games, this is not a river bluff.

Ever.

I don't mind your pre-sizing SB vs. BB if you're going to do this with your whole raising range.

You have 2 streets of value here, not 3, so take a street off. Probably not the flop since it is wet, I most likely c/c river. Fold as played.

Vil is in BB or limped? If it folds to you in blinds, I think 3x is fine.

Maybe consider xc on river as you are unlikely to get 3 streets here, plus you block his most likely hand to call down with

AP, Getting too good of a price on river to fold. Lots of missed draws.

Any reads on him? What did he look like, older guy, younger?

It's not such a weird spot. He called you down then raised the river.

I wouldn't bet so big. He called from the BB and isn't letting go. You're betting it like you have a set. I would bet a little less and check/call either the turn or river depending on my plan. I don't think he's turning his hand into a bluff after you're almost potting every street.

so what do people do with A9cc in hero's position?
what do you think people do with 9To in villians position? T8? JT?
how does villian get the the river with 97?

Online? Snap call. Seemed very passive for online given board and positions.
Live? Sigh call.

A9cc is a gin flop, likely xr that.
Vil hands - likely xr flop or turn

Fold. This is about the worst hand in your value range to call (AJ and QQ are both better), and bvb you have many better combos, for example all Q9 and all JT. If your opponent has a bluff, he needs you to fold 54% of the time ($376 to win $322) to show a profit. You do probably have a healthy amount of bluffs here that will fold, but I doubt you have so many that you need to call your worst value hands.

(in fact, you definitely should not have so many bluffs, otherwise he can snap call your river bet with any pair)

You did all the betting for him, not everyone will raise psb's with the 2nd nuts when he knows club draws are only a tiny fraction of your range and he's thinking how can he get your hundred big blinds in his stack by the river.

The hand looks like 97 or Q9 more than anything else tbh and I don't mind his flats at all since you only have 100bb's which he's trying to win. (he's looking to win your stack not your cbet).

I think the only hands that are ok to play like this in his range is 97cc or Q9cc.

There are a lot of cards that can come on the turn that will kill action and a lot of 2p+ and draw combos that would get in on the flop.

Online it's a 70/30 call/fold depending on player notes.

Live it's more 50/50 depending on the player.

Either way, I think check/call river is the better play here.
