This is a hand that has some psychology involved...so don't rake me over the play too much! 2/5 NL. Hero has $800 after a 4 hour session. Promised myself 1 more orbit and time to go. V1 has $500. V2 has just over $1k. OTTH:
Folds to V2 in LP who raises to $20. Hero on button A
K
calls $20. V1 (SB) raises to $115. BB Folds. V2 3-bets to $420.
I think its an easy fold here for my AK...but am wondering if I caused this play by not 3-betting myself when V2 raised to $20. Reason I am beating myself up over it is the flop comes all clubs, another club comes on turn and a diamond lands on the river. V1 turns over a flopped set of 8's and V2 turns over JJ, no clubs...so the whole pot would've been mine.
The psych element is how to tell when conditions like nursing a modest win (about $300 in my case) and the commitment to leave within a few hands can alter our game and cause bad results.
Thoughts?
