(17) Flop 887chh
hero bets 15. UTG raises to 40. BUT folds. Hero calls.

(297) Riv Kc.

should we be check/raising the turn? my line seems bad because he might check back T8, J8, 68, and jam 87 89 A8 when i will be forced to call riv...

I have no problems with the way this was played.. I think I may lead the turn big enough that if he raised, he would have to GII. An UTG preflop raise should be pretty strong.. How many 8s would be in his range? Suited A8, or would over pairs be more likely?

I think the hand was played fine.

For better input, freeze the action at the point of the question, in this case the turn. Telling us that V checked back river provides more information than you had when you made the decision.

OTT, you're getting stacked by 98, 87, 99, and 77 and probably A8 and K8.

You're beating T8, 86, 85, and the very unlikely 84, 83, and 82.

Mostly, you're behind if all the money goes in. He has more equity when he's behind than you do when you're behind: both of you have all the chop outs, but his T8 and 86 have straight outs as well as boat outs. You have only the chop outs and the Q.

x/r doesn't make much sense here. You're going to be behind a lot when called.

x/c turn, x/c river and hope your hand is good.

You’re beating 9 10 and not much else. In game I probably reraise turn and take it down. Then, after the session I probably realize WTF was I thinking? Ahead never folds and I put a ton of pressure on hands i’m Way ahead of.

Hand was played optimally.

I like that we allowed the fish to continue with all his bluffs and didn't let the pot size get out of control in a spot where our hand looks mostly way ahead/way behind. I guess he could have had a flush draw but its hard for them to get all the chips in if they hit on a paired board if they hit one of their 7 outs.

X/raise the turn after that sizing is probably ok, fish might overplay all sorts of bad hands on turn and decide to slowdown on river

maybe he stacks off with 76,9t overpairs etc..
