Are we ever raising here on the river? Are we ever raising here on the river?

1/2 NLHE 9 handed. 3 hours into session. Table is tight passive.

Hero (BTN, $600): Hero has a TAG image in general, but at the table today he definitely has a looser image due to the fact that the table is extremely nitty. There is only one player looser than hero at the table and it's not a huge difference. Hero doesn't think villain is really much of a thinking player at all though.

Villain 1 (UTG +1, $500): Villain 1 is OMC. He is over 80 years old. He plays on average three hands an hour and goes sessions without raising pre flop. I have yet to see him raise with AK or QQ and have an estimated 100 hours playing with him, so we'll just say his pre flop raise range is only AA and KK.

Villain 2 (CO, $200): Villain 2 is the only looser player than hero at the table. He has a really wide calling range. He plays pretty well post flop and definitely makes much better folds and hero calls than the average player.

OTTH

Hero straddles for $4. SB calls, BB calls, villain 1 calls, and villain 2 calls. Hero looks down to 3 5 and checks.

Flop ($20): A 2 4

Flop is checked around to hero who bets $15. Villain 1 and Villain 2 call.

Turn ($65): Q

Turn is checked around to hero who bets $40. Villain 1 calls and villain 2 folds.

River ($145): A

Villain 1 leads out for $75. Are we ever raising here or is this a flat every time based on villain 1's nature?

Raise/fold $220. 22/44 should be raising turn a lot on FD/SD board, yeah he can have AQ/QQ but he's going to have AK/AJs/ATs a lot too.

Does V1 raise his 2 pairs/sets on the Turn? If he does then this is a slam dunk bet/fold

If he doesn't raise and is trappy than we count combos
We lose to 10 full houses(22, 44, aq)

We beat 16 combos(AK, Jas, Ats)
He might also be playing other random suited A's

Seems like a easy bet fold

Against an Uber nit you’re behind. No way i’m Raising and on my A’est of A games I can see mucking. This is only valid again an 80 year proven super nit after 100 hrs or more of play. Calling any river lead from this V is losing money.

But in game i’m a payoff wizard so i’d Shrug call, show and ship him the pot.

How can we bet/fold on the river if we are in position and he leads into us?

Given he plays less hands than anyone I've ever played with I don't have too many reads on him. However, with a FD and an ace on the board I'm pretty sure he would've x-r 22 or 44, and I'm generally thinking those are both folds from him pre flop. He'd be more likely to play A2s or A4s than 22 or 44, even though it doesn't make sense with position.

My bad raise/fold

Only way I'm not raising is if I have seen him not raise when he turns 2 pair.

If you aren't sure just call.

Folding to me is silly if he can have AK
