I just learned about a small private poker room in my town. They spread 1-2 NL 7 nights a week and the games are pretty soft (almost no 3 betting, some loose passive, and a lot of tight passive regs). I only have a $300 BR (I know) that I can add $100 every two weeks, but am hoping and praying I don't have to do that and can instead run good for my first few sessions. I have a cashout from Carbon for $500 that I requested in May so should theoretically arrive this month or next and would be added to my roll. Every Tuesday the cardroom caps the BI at 60.

My question is am I better served playing only playing Tuesday so I limit my losses while trying to build my roll, or playing on a normal night and buying in for 200? Playing with such a short stack will increase my variance, so maybe just taking a shot deeper is the way to go.

I know this is a pretty ridiculous question, but it is how it is. I'm confidant I can beat this game soundly, and don't think I will let bankroll considerations effect my decisions at the table much, if at all, but am well aware of how easy it is to 150bb.

tldr: is a 30bb cap game or 100bb cap game better for a 150bb bankroll?

You will get raked into oblivion in the 30bb game imo especially if the rake structure doesn't change.

IMO, just have fun whilst saving up for a 1-2k "roll" and then go on a heater from there! :P

Start of on Tuesdays with a short stack strategy (mostly push/fold).
As you get more comfortable in the room and hopefully bigger BR open up your BI's and game more.

Have fun!

I wouldn't cash in your online roll. Just take a 300$ shot every so often until you get some momentum. Be prepared to lose a few buyins; if you aren't then you should just save up a bank roll of 2-3k and then play. If you find that you are playing scared money it's time to get up from the table.

You should post this in the Winrates and Bankroll containment thread.

The quick answer is to play on the weekends and stop thinking about trying to manage your bankroll. You're going to bust a number of times. You might as well take every advantage possible and play at least as deep as everyone else.
