I'm on the fence about raising PF but if I do raise I like making it $15. In these spots I'm not just thinking about picking up $4 in the blinds. I'm often playing against opponents who quickly fold to c-bets on the flop. When those opponents call large PF raises and tend to fold a lot on the flop, the larger the raises they call, the more the constant folding on the flop will hurt them.

Raising bigger also increases the chances of getting the BTN and playing heads up in position.

No way am I folding the flop.

Against a pair (that doesn't have an Ace as a kicker), we're about 50/50 (and thanks to the huge dead money in the pot, easily profitable).

Shortstacks can get their stacks in insanely loosely in most of my 1/3 NL games. This guy started the hand with a lolz 28bbs. Any pair, any draw, heck maybe even a flat out "Imma gonna bluff you first".

I'll admit that we probably don't have much FE here. But even if he folds 5%, that's something. I once had a guy min check/raise me twice on the flop and then fold to my 5bet shove for hardly anything more getting like lol 10:1; once I saw that, I always know there is *some* FE.
