Here's my problem, I was a winning player at low stakes online back in the day. I got back into poker about a year ago. I was doing fine until a couple of months ago. Everything I do seems wrong. I'm losing buy in after buy in at the lowest levels. So, I subscribed to upswing to, hopefully, figure out what I am doing wrong so I can get back to winning. This game is so much more fun when you win.

When's back in the day? If you were beating 50NL back in 2013, it doesn't mean you're able to beat it now. I'd say 10NL today is the same difficulty as 50NL five years ago. Assuming you play on stars.

I understand. I only mentioned my online success to let people know I have some knowledge of how to play the game. I’m more concerned with my recent performance. I was doing my fine until recently and I can’t figure it out.

The thing is, although Upswing isn't necessarily gonna help someone who is already a winning player become a crusher, it's gonna help a fish become a break even player, and with some effort a break even player become a winning player. And given how popular it is, this has a HUGE effect on the quality of the games over time, especially since there are way more fish and break even players than winning players.

I think if it can help me identify leaks and patch them up, it is worth the investment.

Oh it will. For example, I found out that I was cbetting waaaaaay too much on low flops. Good players who know I'm doing that will flat me with everything in position and make my life hell on the turn. But it works at 1/3 cause people don't call as light as they should on those kind of flops.

On the other hand, I thought there would be some godly secrets that would skyrocket my win rate. Not really, mostly just reinforcing things I already knew. It's kinda like the gym. If you're completely clueless, group or personal training will help you a lot. But if you're already deadlifting three plates, it can only help you a little.

Had a guy yesterday floating the sh*t out of me. He called literally 100% of my opens. He'd call every c-bet. If I checked, he bet. On either the turn or river he'd make a huge raise. Sadly a different player stacked me before I had a chance to get a seat change to have position on the jerk to my left.
