Two check-raise hands on the turn Two check-raise hands on the turn

I played these two 2/5 hands live. I called the first of the check-raises on the turn, which I lost, but not the second. Mistakes?

First hand: I am dealt AKd on the button. 4 limpers to me--and I raise to $40 dollars. All fold, except the last caller (two players ahead of me). Flop is As, Jh, 6h. He checks and I bet $65, he calls. The turn is 5c, he checks and I bet $165, and he reraises all-in. We each had $600 to start. Call?

Second hand with the same player an hour later: I am dealt AQ offsuit late position. Two limpers and I raise to $25. The second limper, the Villain, still in front of me, calls the $25. Flop is 10, 8, 5, rainbow. He checks and I bet $40, he calls. The turn is a Q, and he checks and I bet $120, and he reraises all-in. This time, I had $600 and he had $1200 to start. Call?

The villain appears to be a regular, somewhat aggressive, speculative, player, whom I played with once before. Nothing otherwise special about his play. I am a 60-year-old, who plays somewhat loose aggressive.

You just posted results so how do you expect unbiased feedback?

I wanted suggestions for both hands. How can I get feedback on the second hand, without telling the result for the first hand?

How about pretending to be unbiased?

In your post I thought you said you called the second time and didn't lose. But I think you meant you didn't call the second time?

Folding one pair to turn check-raises is super standard. I would have folded both times. Anyone who says otherwise is a payoff wizard.

Right, I asked whether I should call the second time. I actually folded.

It would be nice to know a little more about how he plays. What hands has he shown down? Has he check/raised the turn against anyone else?

Probably a fold in hand two since he expects you to call as you did in hand one. Unless he's using some sort of reverse psychology

Right, hard to get much of a read in live play.

??? Not hard at all after a few orbits, but if you don't have any info except the one hand you shared with us, just fold the second hand.

I realize you told us a little about him, but not about his actual play: what hands he's shown up with, how often he check/raises turn, etc.

I would fold both hands pretty quickly unless you've actually seen him spaz with this line

H2 nitpicking but bigger pre, $30-$35

Neither of these are obvious spots without a little more info on villains. Hand 2 against aggro villains I think we can call it off near the top of our range and shouldn't be bleeding money or anything.

Hand 1 is harder. Villain can overplay weaker ax and combo draws here, we are mostly worried about aj and jj.

I'd size slightly larger preflop both hands as well.

Thanks for the feedback. For the first hand, he had A5c--and spiked a second pair on the turn. So he plays a range of hands (as do I). For the second hand, I was at the top of my range, as I spiked a Q on the turn. He could have J,9; 10,8; or a pair and a straight draw.

First hand is a fold, I don't give many players credit to c/r a bluff on the turn even though it's a pretty good play against good players. Given that you called with AK maybe it is not such a good play lol but against a good 2+2er who can fold tptk I like to work in turn crai bluffs.

Second hand I dislike the cbet. This board misses our range and hits his pretty well. If we are going to cbet I prefer a hand with more barrel opportunities like Q9, QJ. On the turn I am fine with b/f, and against super agro players I don't hate a check either.
