Hero ???
I have seen two previous hands where he bet all three streets for sizable amounts with middle pair and his opponent called him down both times. He is an older, white gentleman who seems on the gambly/action side.
Would like some thoughts on the flop and turn because I think there are a few lines where I could've taken to better navigate this hand. However, as played on the river this is an overbet, but is this still a call sometimes given this player type?

When V pots it otf, I’d probably fold this tbh even with a diamond.
The turn is the best one in the deck, but we’re going to probably have to fold the majority of turns to a large bet so we’re not going to realize our equity. Also we’re OOP and it’ll be tougher to extract value when we hit.
Vs this V probably have to x/c river but this is a dumb spot
imo

I find every time I call off second flush on a four flush board, they nearly always have it. Now on the river we have boats as well.
Against said villain, I'm probably sigh calling, but I'm certainly not snap calling.

Against this villain you have to call river. It won't be as profitable as you might hope though, with 4 to a flush and boats possible on the river most maniacs will have something good. Even a maniac probably checks behind with his medium value hands on the river and sees who is ahead and gives up his bluffs some of the time.
The biggest thing I would say is that you should have bet the flop. Unless he is aggressive about raising/bluff raising this is a good situation to bet yourself to control the pot size.

The issue with these board textures is that we aren’t playing solver geniuses like DooDooPoker for the most part at live poker. Like he isn’t going to look at KQo no diamond on the turn, go “I have blockers to hands containing the Qd, I’m running it!” And go to town.

Against a maniac never folding here. Shrug / insta call. Really nothing else for me to think about. V will stack off light, we’re too high up in our range to fold to a maniac. V should be jamming a very scary runout.

ideally I'd like to see precise HH's from earlier to determine if he's really a maniac or not. But lets just say best case scenario he's down 8 buyins and just limp jamming air preflop and otherwise gambling it up. then yes 2nd NFD is a snap call (interally, dont externalize the snap call, we want him to stay in the game)
