Hero: normal tag, however playing very lag at super nit table...opening 30-40% mostly in late position $245

V1 : just sat down. Seems like scared money. Playing $300
V2: over values top pair and draws...semi aggressive

Preflop

3 limper, hero make 15 with 99 in HJ
V1 calls BB and v2 calls in MP

Flop
9h-8c-5c
V1 bets 15
V2 raises to 55
Hero raises to $155
V1 calls
v2 folds

Turn
9d

V1 check
Hero shoved 70

Should I wait to shove river. Or just get it in and assume v1 is committed?

I'd normally just advocate betting monsters ... but I don't mind a check here since we're IP and there's no way we can lose the hand (other than 76cc to a 4c river, then BBJ time). He *might* be more likely to bet out or call the river if we check the turn.

But there really aren't that many hands that call the $155 then fold for another $70. So I doubt it really makes much difference.

He must of been a fish, he folded and showed king high flush draw. Rabbit hunt showed club didn't come. So he folds river either way. Still think you bet turn so draws call.

What makes V1 seem like scared money? He just sat down and bought in for the max....

I like shoving the turn. V is going to have a hard time folding virtually anything he called your turn raise with.....

Just the way he carried himself in the few pots he played. Scared money was visual read more than anything concrete

Check turn, gives him a chance to catch up OR he can bluff the river

Shove turn, if he misses on the river it'll be an easier fold than folding $70 on the turn with $400 in the pot.

agree w/ this. if we were deeper i could see a check but he should be calling the 70 here unless he can read you for a boat or quads.

why make it 155 on the flop? you want v1 to fold i would just call the 55 on the flop and let him barrel turn and stack off

Am I right in seeing the pot was at $400 on the turn?.... Shoving is fine I don't see wtf he folds.

What was your reasoning to 3bet to 155 on the flop? You want to induce a shove from draws (88 and 55 will obv shove too) and you've given yourself very little room to fold (from their perspective).

As played anything other than a turn shove is ridiculous.

Nh. IMO he is very rarely folding his draw for $70 in a $400 pot, so jam turn rather than wait for him to catch up.

If stacks were deeper I could see waiting for river.

I raised to charge draws. To stack off with over pair or two pair.
