1-2 NL Hero has $160, unknown villain with $200

Hero has A4o in the SB
Villain in HJ limps, BU limps, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: A43 rainbow ($8)
Hero bets $6, BB folds, V calls, BU folds.

Turn: 5 ($20)
Hero checks, V bets $19, Hero tank-folds.

Wondering how to play this horrible turn.

why do you think he had a straight? Since you checked, he probably thought the board scared you, or you gave up, and he bet. I would have bet the turn, if he raised you, then you can yawn and you can fold it. Would he limp A9? A10? a lot of people in 1/2 would

I'm not gona say fold pre. it's only 1/2 another dollar idk but in a higher game I would fold pre.

You need to start thinking about what villains range is. What is he open limping with in the HJ? What type of player is he? What kind of hands would he bet with here?

Well you gave not a single villain read, so how do you think we'd be able to offer any advice?

I would at least called. Why fold, you still have outs.
Check call turn and river (assuming you dont fill up)

Lead turn $20. Most 1-2 players that turn the nuts are bad enough to shove and allow an easy fold.

As played, I don't like the fold on the turn. Narrowing the range to (A 5) or (2 X) or (6 7) is way to narrow. Lot of (A X) single pair hands in his range we crush

OP stated villain is an unknown. It's easy to say we should call or fold. That is laughable bro.

B/f turn

In the long run folding this pre is the better play, you're essentially just playing an Ace.

As played, why not pot the flop or over bet the flop? If the villain has an Ace, he is calling and you want value from every ace.

Bet fold turn.

Completing pre is meh. Bet the turn and most rivers yourself. As played call and decide on river depending on sizing and tells. I'd probably muck the river to another pot sized bet though.

You know, it's OK to fold the SB. I'm quite certain over the years if I had mucked my SB, without even looking at it, every single time, I would be ahead money today. Quite certain.

Seriously? Unknown V? No age, gender, race, socio-economic class, chip handling reads, clothes, nothing?

How many 2s are in his open limping range? He has more sets than straights in his range here, imo, and more weak TPs that are afraid of straights than either. Bet/fold turn, imo. AP, call, and c/eval river.
