Turned flush

UTG (300) UTG is a losing lag reg. Plays a loose and very aggressive. Down quite a bit this evening and trying to push the table over. He can be raising any two in any position

Hi-jack (250) A new player, never played with before, clearly doesn't know what he's doing and has called several bets with mid pair and doesn't fold top pair.

Hero (250) is on the button with 89

4 limpers.

Flop

J 7 8

UTG bets 4, Hi-jack calls, Hero raises to 17

Both call.

Turn: 5

Two checks, hero bets 28, UTG raises to 75, Hi-jack and hero call.

River 6

Check to hero

Hero?

Re: Turned flush

Just go for the rest. You have a fantastic shot at getting called by worse in two places. I expect UTG to check a hand the beats yours about 0% of the time on this river, and the HJ has a wide range and will pay off light.

Re: Turned flush

You bet 28 into 76 on the turn, much too small. You should bet 50-60 ish.

On turn, I'd just shove to the check-raise. Given one hyper-aggro opponent and another is a calling station, you can easily be called by worse. If a heart comes on the river, a paired board, or a 4 card straight, it's likely to kill your action. Thus get it in on the turn when they'll still call and they're crushed.

As played, shove river, you've only got 150ish left and pot is 300ish.

Donno where you got the number from, the pot is around 50

I flat the turn, because I know UTG is only going to bet the river with a flush once two people call behind. He is never going to bluff this spot, so I can ship the turn knowing he'll only ever call with better or call and re-eval the river.

I can't really range HJ here, he could have anything, but his range is so wide, it's rarely going to be much.

Re: Turned flush

raise pre

If I'm folding I'm doing it on the turn. When I have a 9 high flush and get check-raised and called by another V when the flush comes in my amazing 9 high flush starts looking meek. I hope you didn't call the turn hoping to hit a 1 outer? You thought you were good on the turn then everyone checked to you on the river what's the question? GII or make a reasonable value bet

Not enough info on Vs to decide whether I can fold a 9 high flush here on the turn

Re: Turned flush

Bad lag + loose passive fish = never fold anything good.

If you read my post above, you'll know why I flatted the turn.

My question is do I check behind on the river or bet for value?

Doing anything other than jamming is poor, imo. You have a legitimate chance to get paid in 2 spots.

Im assuming this is 1/2?

(4 limpers x $2) + $2 from Hero + $3 from blinds = $13

$13 + ($17 x 3) = $64?

Including the stakes of the game and the pot size on each street is advised. As played shove.

Re: Turned flush

probably shove. you can get a crying call from a set or 2 pair. i dont think either of these players is checking a better hand than yours otr.

Blinds are 1/1 - sorry, thought I'd mentioned that.

Re: Turned flush

Thanks for advice. Both villians called and HJ showed nuts. Surprised me, considering I flatted the turn, so I'm pretty likely to just check behind on the river.

Was just curious as to what other people thought, as I discussed the hand with a mate, who was on the table and he said the river bet was horrible and I should always be checking behind.
