Turn straight, river action? Turn straight, river action?

Real cool river to level TF out of a good player and bet 200 and make him bluff catch his entire range.

I folded with only a little thought -- he's never raising me w/ worse. He had KK. Weird and unexpected, but after the hand, he said he put me on 9T on the turn. LOL. I did not show, but I told him what I had. Tight is good -- or not!
People who catch top set (third nut) on the turn and check call because "they know you got there" are 100% terrible poker players.

On the other hand, this is not the type of guy I would try floating for 8% of my stack and only a gutshot. Can't imagine how flop action would be profitable with this V.

He's actually a pretty good player. He's a winner in this game, at least, and I know he does well in Vegas (not just from him). I think it was just his play against me, and unfortunately for me, he was right (or close enough). Seems as if I need to mix things up, not him. I know I need to be more aggressive in this game. I also need to buy in deeper, but that's for another forum.

Nice fold. Tighter range than interpreted from the op. I think the flop is an ez fold.

In hindsight would it be best to check back the river? FD got there and full house...

Yes, I think I should have checked back the river. What did I think he'd call with that I beat? Nothing. He might have called a few other players with a worse hand, but not me.

How do you justify the flop call then? Seems terrible in hindsight.

I wish I could make all of my decisions with hindsight. Who knew he was that strong? He could have had 88 or A5s or TJ -- most of which he would have c-bet. I was betting more than just a K turn if checked to, I just happened to hit, and he just happened to be at the top of his range.

I made the wrong decision on the river, but the river doesn't affect the flop call.

Also, if the river had been a blank, say the 4h, I think he would have called my small river bet with KK. However, on THIS board, I don't think he's calling a river bet with worse.

See, that's the part that doesn't make any sense to me. We know this guy is c/c KK on a KQJ7 board but we also know that he is c betting 88 and A5 on a QJ7 flop? Even I wouldn't do that and I'm pretty aggressive. I think you are overestimating your ability to win this hand without binking.

OK. I guess you know my opponents better than I.

That seems to be what the evidence supports
