TT in the SB, 1/2 NL, pre-flop question TT in the SB, 1/2 NL, pre-flop question

1/2 game playing pretty crazy at this point, effective stack- roughly 400

V1- Maniac playing almost every hand and opening fairly often ; he opens to 7 from MP

V2- calls from MP+1; fairly straight forward passive ABC type player

folded to me in the SB with TT; I have 4 players behind me including the blinds, EP limper, V1, and V2;

Given how wide this player is opening this seems like a standard spot to 3! for isolation; I basically pussied out at this point with the reasoning of not wanting to play a bloated pot OOP , and I felt like it might go multi-way sometimes so maybe I won't get the isolation that I am looking for in this spot;

Is this terrible logic? Or can I flat this sometimes... I feel like my hand is too strong to set mine with here and I just straight up misplayed my hand; still curious if flatting is ok here sometimes given how many players are behind me and being OOP

thanks for feedback

I would 3bet every time. Go on the large side -- at least $35.

Wait, you are the SB or BTN? If you are the SB, you can go at least $40. You didn't have EP limper in the hand, either, or his tendencies. Fix these minor details, but I'm still 3betting.

Yes, I'd say flatting is pretty bad. Especially for such a small open. If the guy had a variety of opening sizes and made it to the larger end, you might argue for a call.

The fact that you're going to be in some tough spots is a good reason to force V to make a -ev call right now if he wants to put you in those spots later.

Not only is the hand "too strong to setmine," it's not a great setmining spot anyway because the opener has so many hands. You could easily flop a set and get no action.

Don't worry so much about 3 betting and then having to give up the pot sometimes. It's not a big deal, especially if your opponent is making clearly -ev calls to get there.

Think a bit about how you'll play various boards. If called, don't get spewy just because you 3 bet. You're going to be looking to charge draws and worse pairs, fold out overcard equity and give up when he makes a better hand. Mostly small pots.

Yes this. If all fold, great. If you get heads up bet blind before flop 1/2 pot (this can be very intimidating). If called by mult callers, play poker....
