NL 1/2
This is Hero's first hand at this table. Hero fled a rock garden. Hero only has 160 and just took his chips over to the new one. Hero has 108 in the BB. UTG limps. He's a 50 yo WG with $80. MP limps, he's a 75 yo BG. I think he has $65. I do not know either player. Cutoff, button, and SB also limp. It comes to Hero who checks.
POT $12
FLOP 1010J
SB checks. Hero bets 10.
UTG calls, MP calls. Everyone else folds.
POT $42
Turn 4
This completes the flush. Hero checks here. A mistake? Should I have bet $30 or so? I'm many miles from GTO I'm afraid.
UTG checks. MP shoves for $53. Hero????????

A bet would be burning money, you're way ahead way behind here. AP I shrug call, V could have flopped a straight draw and picked up extra equity on the turn.

I'd call. He could have you beat, but c'est la vie -- you could be way ahead.

I call. He doesn't always have a flush, and even if he does, you have outs to the boat or quads.

I think I often give far too much credit for completed flushes when they often, i've found missed on a straight draw or a top pair hand. The lack of a straight draw made it a tough decision along with the 8 kicker.
