Weekend afternoon at MDLive. One of those crazy promotion days in Dec so lots of action.


Villain - Looks acts and talks like a reg - Young Asian, sitting right next to his buddy (who I know is a reg) and chatting queitly with his buddy alone and quiet otherwise. Been Playing TAG and goes for value a lot of the time, hasnt shown down a bluff in 5+ hours we have been at the table.

Hero: 40ish Indian. Villain's buddy knows me and we chat a bit - and he knows that I'm capable of some unconventional lines. Since Villain and buddy have been chatting a while, i assume he has shared notes with him on all the players at the table.

Random Rec limps from EP, Villain calls in CO, Hero checks option in BB with 89 Effective Stacks are about $700

Hero Checks, EP checks, MP checks, Villain bets 20, Hero thinks for a few secs and calls, EP calls, MP folds


Turn ($77) 9

Hero Checks, EP checks, Villain bets 60 pretty quickly, Hero thinks for like 10 seconds and makes it $160, EP folds, Villain calls pretty quickly (didnt seeem to give it much thought)


River ($397) J
Hero thinks for 30 seconds and checks, Villain thinks for a min or so and bets $375. Hero?

1. Line check. What would you have done differently - as you go through the hand and why. C/R flop?
2 As played, what do you do in the river?

Call turn. AP prob fold when he tanks for that long and pots it

I see no point in raising turn, it's pretty spew. Your line is over repping your hand vs V. You only have 9x in your range on turn c/r. It's face up vs anyone and allow people to exploit you being OOP.

Got to call river, but you really only beat bluffs.

c/c he just potted every street. You're up against a set or bluffs (made hands but counterfeited on turn now turning into bluffs)and/or some better 9xs.
