Hi guys, I'm playing $1/$2 on a Saturday night and the tables running a little more aggressive than usual.

V1 seems on the LAG side, but isn't a great player. I saw him bluff raise all-in on the turn with nothing but overcards earlier in the night after the PF raiser showed weakness. He's running bad and I've seen him rebuy twice so far. He has $235 in chips.

Hero has $350. Won a few small hands but haven't been doing much in the two hours I've been playing. Rest of the table is a mix of loose passive, loose somewhat aggressive. OTTH

9-handed, Hero is in UTG+1 with AcKc. The button straddles and it gets folded to me. I raise to $16. Given the loose table, should have raised more. V1 and 2 other players in later position call.

Ks Qs Js ($60) Hero bets $50. V1 shoves all-in and everyone else folds. Pot size is $330 and it would cost $170 to call, a little more than 2-1.

I figure there are very few sets in his range. Maybe he flopped a flush or straight, but would he insta-shove? I figure he's also making this play with any As, any pair with a spade, 2-pair combos.

How strong/weak should I feel with TPTK on this type of flop? For this type of villain, is it worth a call? Thanks!

Betting flop was a mistake.

Think about the range of hands that likely call your raise pf. Now look at how many people called. Now look at this flop and think about how that (massive) range of hands interacts with a flop like this.

Odds are some one has something sexier than one pair that isn't likely to improve. You need to show this down as cheaply as possible and facing a raise is gonna suck.

Check flop, fold now.

Great point. Yeah I got overexcited to hit my pair and made a bad bet on the flop.

I agree that betting flop is a mistake 4 ways OOP but unless you have some reason to believe anyone involved in this hand is raising worse at a significant frequency I think a b/f is reasonable.

Obviously, it's easy to be biased since you got shoved on this time; This will not happen every time of course.

$40 seems better than $50 though.

That's an awful flop for you this multi-way, especially with the 3 spades on board. Lots of hands beat you: a couple of broad way straights, some flushes, two pairs/maybe a set. I agree that this hand is a check, seems like you'll have the worst hand a lot of the time.
