Hey guys ive been reading the forums here for awhile but its my first post so gimme your thought on this hand.

Reg home game

2/5 game 6handed, hero on btn. V2 limps from CO, Hero raises to $20 w/ KQss, V1 in SB calls, V2 calls.

Flop: 4sQh10s ($65)

V1 checks, V2 checks, Hero bets $25 (~$195 left).
V1 shoves for $84 total, V2 calls ($110 left), Hero shoves,
V2 calls.

V1 is a bit loose and will shove light when he drops below $100
V2 is usually pretty tight not getting out of line often.

V1 just mucked after we flipped, V2 shows A8ss.
Turn is Qd. River is 4c.
Hero wins $453

I shoved on V2 because i didnt think he would pay if the spade came if he wasnt on the FD or wouldnt pay anymore on the turn if it wasnt a spade if he was on FD. +pot committed.

What to you guys think of the play overall? Thanks for the input.

the flop bet was a litte too small for my liking. i wouldve liked a $35-$45 bet on flop. when V1 shoves he could be shoving any draw or Q something like KJ or J9 maybe even something like Q8 or Q9 suited. when V2 calls that usually means nut flush draw with a weak Ax bc he wouldve raised a strong A pre i would guess. your pair is probably the best hand but your flush outs may not be good. i think your flop shove over the shove/call is fine but i wouldnt mind a flat call either. but i think the getting it in on this flop is the way to go

Yeah the flop bet couldve been bigger youre right. I was thinking at worst someone smooth called me PF with TT or QT. but i felt like i was ahead or flipping.

Sorry, you had $220 to start the hand?

I'd go 20-25 pre since there is a limper.

On the flop we just hit top pair and big flush draw with an SPR of about 3:1. We're committed, especially on a board with so many draws. My plan is to bet/bet and hopefully be all in on the turn.

So, I'd bet at least 45 on the flop, maybe closer to 60. I'm shoving any turn.

As played the flop is a super trivial shove when it gets back to you. You can't just worry about QT, TT, or 33, you have to look at your hand vs. his hand range, and also consider the amount of dead money in the pot.

like rumor said, larger otf and hopefully all in by the turn.

small 25 bet otf may have induced V1 to shove, whereas he may have folded if you bet larger, which could be a good thing

@rumor yeah i had ~$220 to start

So the consensus is bigger bet otf which i agree with. V1 range here is super light so i was only really worried ab 2p for him. He wouldve shoved any pp pre imo as ive seen him do that short stacked multiple times.

V2 was more of a concern because he wouldve flatted TT pre. His check/call otf eliminated that with the FD out there.

My biggest question is the shove after V2 smooth called V1. I just dont really see a call giving the most EV.

grunch: bet closer to pot on flop... great flop... i'd have called as well

even probably would have thought one of them had A high flush draw... but maybe they have lower flush draw, and you're ahead of flush draws with your Q anyway. small spr. definitely calling. nice hand, nice win.
