Had a spot where I'm not sure If a read was as obvious as I thought that might be.
Stakes were 2-100. Hero had 300 behind.
Hero is otb with k8s. Villian 2 behind. Preflop action is unraised, hero limps in.
Flop 10/10/8. Checked to me, I bet 10. Everybody but villian folds. He raises to 20, hero calls.
Turn is a king. Checked to me, I bet 20. He raises to 40.
River a blank. He leads out all in hero folds. Thoughts?
Thanks.

Fold or raise pre, mostly fold. This is a terribly marginal spot we shouldn't be getting ourselves into.

How many people saw the flop? What hands are calling a flop bet here? Mostly tens, occasionally 2 overs.

Why are we betting the turn, what hands are going to call us? Mostly tens and stronger kings that now crush us.

What hands do we beat that V check-raises us multiple times? I honestly can't think of any.

River fold is fine.

I can't limp with 300 behind myself, button or no button. I dont even remember being in a game that was that easy.

Limp, fold.

I can't imagine folding preflop. Easy limp imo.

I like flop bet, though you have to think opponent is really bad to continue once he minraises you. Even if he doesn't have a ten our hand is vulnerable and if he's bluffing he's usually going to continue and we can't really call another bet. Fold to the flop raise.

As played, turn is an easy check behind. We get value from nearly nothing and our hand isn't vulnerable enough to merit some sort of protection bet. I would check back and fold to a large bet and bet if checked to.

This is generally a fold preflop, but you can limp or raise occasionally depending on table conditions.

When you do limp multiway your hoping to flop better then bottom pair. This flop is almost always a check. On turn, if nobody bets then you can consider betting. The king helps you and betting then makes sense, but it's still a fold when raised unless you know villain likes to minraise to see where they are.

Betting flop would make sense if you had raised pre and are heads up. This flop is likely to miss opponent and you can get called by worse and get some better hands to fold. In a limped pot your hand is too fragile and it's too likely villains are trapping with TX, you want to play this carefully and keep the pot small.
